Okay. It’s not technically amazing. Get over it and listen to the incredibly beautiful simplicity. Metal Hearts is a duo from Baltimore; who this year released 'socialize', their second album and first under Suicide Squeeze records.

the opening track, also being the title track, can more or less speak for the rest of thr album: with a nice sampled drum loop first, then a simple clean guitar riff, followed by a slightly more melodic guitar line over that, then finally vocals coming into the piece (i speak of all this in a positive manner). Though this opener does not hit any sampled strings or synths; which do come into action in the tracks to come.
The lyrics are instantly noticeable; and are imo the greatest feature of the album, the first of the album being:

'Rise, to the occasion
Pretty girls, they are persuasive
A dim light becomes a very bright light,
A pretty sight makes for a very grim night.
Socialize'

The guitar riff that plays background to the repetition of the word 'socialize' is probably one of the most melodically perfect riffs i have come across in recent times. Check it.
The album then caresses through some more gentle guitar riffs, some nice sampled percussion, and sweeping, deep, harmonising vocals.
Standouts include 'disappear', 'mountain song', 'vampires/tendency to run', and 'airplanes flying'. Most of which make you feel like you are floating in the middle of a sea of clouds. They’re just so nice sounding! Whether it be the up-beat sampled drum beat, or the constant lethargic strumming of guitars, or the simple yet so amazingly accurate and flowing lyrics; each song has something running for it, running very smoothly at that. More examples of their awesome lyrics? Sure.

'I swallow a bottle of wine
So I can get by it.
You can really tell when I’m
A self indulgent mess,
I will wear your ego down
And make you feel like less.
And I’m gonna have a hard time,
Getting over myself.'

If you like relaxing indie pop and synthesised percussion, with songs that generally sound so nice from the beginning that they don't need to travel anywhere and get any better, then hook this up. Look into the songs i have mentioned. They make you smile constantly, breaking into laughter even! That’s how good they are.
Get going!

good review, although I think their music is a bit depressing at times, (examples: Disappeared, Mountain Song) which you didn't quite mention. I saw them open for Murder by Death in Boston and liked them, so I picked up the album. Foothills is a genuinely awesome indie pop song.
