Review Summary: One classic christian banger shit

This album is just a blast. I'm wondering how Skillet fans must feel, having discovered them with their newer albums and then digging through their catalog to get to this diamond. I'm thinking it must be something like when you're used to fucking a missionary and one day someone shoves it up your ass without warning. Yeah, it definitely has to be something like that.

Collide is an album full of raw dirty energy that pedals from start to finish at full throttle and rips into you with riffs as hard as the word of God, a bassline that slaps it like a grandmother who sends you to your room to read your bible after setting you up to smoke in the backyard, and to top it all off a furious powerful roar from J.L Cooper that would bring back the dead.

With the exception of Little More there's no room for the ballads so typical of Skillet these days, where here everything is poured out at full speed. From Fingernails to the end it's the highest school of rock nu-metal.

Skillet just take it from the ground up here and manage to cook up one hell of an album where it's hard not to throw your head around and kick a wall here and there. They've never been this wild and raw since.

Hey man amen the world needs a Collide tour again. Make Christian Rock Great Again. Make Rock Great Again. Make Nu-metal Great Again.

Such a gem to which, other than Comatose, Skillet has never released the like. Also John’s…ehem…opinionated views have contributed to the bands downfall.

This is back when Skillet was far more concerned with being a good rock band than shoving their toxic religious and political views down everyone's throats. This and Comatose still hold up pretty good for what they are.

I wouldn't give all that much props to Comatose, though I have very many fond memories of watching a shit ton of AMVs with Rebirthing in them. Back in the good ol days of 2008 when Zoids and Sonic AMVs were my main methods for discovering new music.

Album is surprisingly not that bad for what it is. My Obsession still bangs hard and is a fun time to listen to once in a while.
