Review Summary: Most underappreciated Oasis album

I'll not bore you with the long exposition about the band's past, present, etc. cause everyone already wrote about that in their reviews and just want to cut straight to the point reviewing the album and the songs while keeping it short.

I've always considered SOTSOG their most underrated album. Even when I first bought it back in 2000. Some truly classic songs here like Go let it Out. Who Feels Love is absolutely brilliant and gets even better with time while the live version from Familiar to Millions album is as good as the studio one. The whole album's production is their best by far, it's varied, multilayered and deep. With time I even grew to like Little James, especially after having a kid myself I started to feel the lyrics while the melody was always sweet. The same can't be said about Put Yer Money bla bla bla, never liked it and it's the weakest song here by far. Funny how Gas Panic which is usually cited as the best track on the album but I personally never enjoyed it, maybe because the lyrics don't do anything for me and I never thought much of its melody.

"Where Did It All Go Wrong?"is a really solid song, completely forgotten like much of the album. Sunday Morning Call is a very cool track with great melody and a strong melancholy vibe. I Can See a Liar features some stupid lyrics but the vocal melody and the riffs are great. Roll It Over is a very uncharacteristic Oasis song and that's why it works, it's dark, sad and emotionally charged with Liam giving one of his best vocal performances ever. On the whole Liam's voice was in its strongest and most verstaile form during this particular era. Bonus track Let's All Make Believe is one of the best peace anthems they ever did even though the chorus lyrics are pretty naive and childish but the melody really shines here. Yeah, I skipped Fun in the Bushes, it's a pretty cool intro song and not much more.

The album is very different to their others, maybe that's why their fans don't like it as much.

Essential listening:
Go Let It Out
Who Feels Love

The album that officially got me off Oasis, at age 14-15 and as a huge defender of Be Here Now.

Yes, it is THAT bad/boring.

Terrible intro, there is a reason why reviews have a background on the band because no one wants to spend more than five seconds looking it up when it should be in a good review about the band. Paragraph 2 gives nothing but basic fodder and adds no depth or to your argument why we should listen to this piss stain of an album. Paragraph 3 has the same issues as two in that it doesn’t give enough details about the sound of the album. You don’t balance an album out by giving it a higher rating because other people justifiably so give it a 2.9 rating. Work on grammar and be more descriptive.

I honestly could care less if you like it or not. I wrote this review in 15 mins as a stream of consciousness, just my quick, straight and honest opinion with no sugarcoating bs after years of listening that I suddenly felt the need to express. Thank you for reading and all the best to you

The magic had definitely been lost at this point.

One of the most disappointing albums of all time.

Every album that followed was the same, a couple of classics packaged together with the forgettable and absolute stinkers

"One of the most disappointing albums of all time."
That's more than a bit of exaggeration. I'd say Be Here Now fits the bill more. I remember how there was no next to no hype when SOTSOG was released, Oasis wasn't popular or fashionable to listen anymore.

I agree that their next three last albums were weak, with two or three good songs and not much else. Mainly only repetition bordering on self parody. I still maintain that SOTSOG was their last great album. Opinions
