Release Date: 2006 | Tracklist

Seether recorded this CD in a live setting in February 2006, in Pennsylvania. It was released July 11th, 2006. It also comes with a DVD that includes live footage of the concert "The Gift" video, and behind the scenes footage of the video. This is a live CD, and some songs have different parts in them. NOTE: ALL OF THE SONGS ARE PLAYED ON AN ACCOUSTIC GUITAR. EXCEPT FOR THE REMIX OF THE SONG "The Gift"

Seether for this album:

Shaun Morgan - vocals, guitar
Pat Callahan - guitar
Dale Stewart - bass, vocals
John Humphrey - drums

Pat Callahan left the band shortly after this due to a couple of altercations. Seether went back to a 3 man band, which was how they started.

Seether - One Cold Night (2006)

1. Gasoline - Has that same intro from the Disclaimer CD. It has a good bass line to it and is a very catchy song to start off the CD with. He doesn’t scream at all, as he usually does with this song, which surprised me. Still a good song to start the album out with. 4/5

2. Driven Under - Very good intro to the song. The difference on this song from the original, is that they play it slower, a LOT slower, and it actually sounds nicer. They even added some major notes in the chords in the chorous, going from E minor to Ab Major. One of the better ones on the CD. 5/5

3. Diseased - Has the same intro with a high fifth note added to it, so it adds the eerie effect to it. For some reason, I think the guitars are somewhat flat in just this song, and only in one part. Maybe that is just me though. It is the same as the original. 4/5

4. Truth - This is a good song nonetheless. They even put a really cool intro to it, I think they improvised it as well, I am not sure, but it sure builds up to the song and makes you want to rock out when you get there. Then everything is the same as the original through the rest of the song. He sings it better in this version IMO. 5/5

5. Immortality - This is actually a cover from the group Pearl Jam, and although I have never heard the song recently, I will have to say that Seether did a great job covering it. I don’t know if the song had a solo in the original, but everything worked out perfectly on this one. One of my favorites to listen to. 5/5

6. Tied My Hands - This is actually one of Seether’s older songs. It was on their CD called “Saron Grass” and this was when they were back in South Africa. They never released this in the USA and it is very hard to find the songs off of these. Gets kind of repetitive after a while. 2.5/5

7. Sympathetic - Has a very good intro, as in the original. He sings the lyrics so softly in the verse, and then very strong in the chourus, just to get the point across. This is one of my favorite songs by Seether. They play it very nicely and it sounds as if it was a very good quality. One of the best on the CD. 5/5

8. Fine Again - Probably the best intro to the song I have ever heard heard by these guys. This is my favorite song of theirs. The rest of the song is so awesome, because it is just flown together perfectly. You can hear the bass, the drums, both guitars doing their work and Shaun sings very good in this song. The best on the CD. 5/5

9. Broken - The song that makes you love or hate these guys. First of all, WHY DID THEY LET AMY LEE SING IN THE BROKEN ON DISCLAIMER II. IT SCREWED THE ALBUM UP WAY BAD. But there is good news, it is just Shaun singing, and it is much better. And having it acoustic helps with the atmosphere. It is much better this time around. 4/5

10. The Gift - This is the song they are trying to make popular off of Karma & Effect, as they have already had some success with "Remedy", the first single off of that album. This is more of the ‘ballad’ of that album, other than "Plastic Man", which was an all acoustic song on KAE. Shaun sings this much better than the original and the guitar work is much better as well. 4.5/5

11. Remedy - How do you take a hard rock hit and turn it into a catchy jingle? Ask Seether how. They did a pretty good job at doing it and it still rocks as well. The guitar is a bit different to listen to than the original, only because it is acoustic. One of the better ones. 4/5

12. Plastic Man - This is the slowest of all the songs on the CD, and of all the songs they have ever done. Shaun sings this exceptionally well, and the guitar is very relaxing to this song. Is about the same as the original. 4/5

13. The Gift (Alternate Mix) – This is probably the better version of "The Gift", when you compare it to the original. It is a hidden song on the CD, as it is the only song with the electric guitar. And when they do use it on this song, it doesn’t seem forced into the song, and makes it much more smooth. 5/5

This is it for this CD, and I thought Seether did an excellent job at it.
Pros – guitar was clean and listenable for a live concert
Fine Again and Truth Intros were sweet
Bass was audible
Cons - gest repetitive, especially since it is a concert and it is acoustic
No solos, where there easily could have been some.

I hope you liked it. Great CD for a live album, and the DVD that comes with it is good as well. Definitely worth the $13. Hope you like it.
4/5

All the songs from Disclaimer/Disclaimer II included here sound a thousand times better. The acoustic setting works incredibly well with these songs. Very underrated.
