Review Summary: Without a care in the world.
Inoffensive and bland like a cheese sandwich, Jordi makes no special statement in the pop industry. The songs are forgettable, interchangeable, and worst of all: boring. There is nothing that separates this band from other pop acts. The album is front loaded with the best songs to make a decent impression, but that high isn’t gonna last long. Beautiful Mistakes is as average as it gets, refusing to evolve their sound right from the first track. The next two songs are thankfully decent, with enough energy in the choruses to make you think there’s some hope here. That’s called deception.
I don’t hate Maroon 5, they have some classic jams; the problem is none of those jams are on this album. As Jordi plays out it gets progressively worse. Lovesick and Remedy are entirely forgettable, and directly after, the album takes an even greater nosedive into the uninspired void of generic trash. Song after song plays out more tired than the last, without so much as a catchy chorus or a break from the monotony. The guest vocals don’t add anything interesting either, and it’s a wonder why they’re even there. Maroon 5 are so famous they don’t feel the need to try anymore.
The best that can be said about this album is it’s pretty chill. As a matter of fact, the vibe is so relaxing I almost fell asleep listening to it. Sure, it’s kinda pretty and easy on the ears, but there’s nothing that makes you wanna get off your chair and dance. If this is what pop is devolving into I want to cancel my subscription. Maroon 5 could do a lot better. I can’t recommend listening to this album. Only if you want to see how far they’ve fallen and diluted their sonics. There are far better albums in their discography with which to waste your time on.
