The Slim Shady LP was Eminem's first popular album with Interscope Records. On here, the song title, Just Don't Give A **** best describes his attitude. He disses random people, and has an almost constant sense of humor, except in the more serious songs, such as If I Had, 97' Bonnie & Clyde, (formerly known as Just The Two Of Us on The Slim Shady EP) and Rock Bottom. On a few of the other songs, he does get into more serious issues, such as during My Fault. There, he talks about accidently overdosing a girl. She dies at the end, and he seems very serious at this part of the song.

Of Eminem's five albums, if you want a less machure hilarious version of Eminem, go for this album. If you're looking for a large variety of topics, that's somewhat more machure than this, go for The Marshall Mathers LP. If you want his most serious album, based on his problems, you'd probably want The Eminem Show. If you want another mixture of topics, get Encore. It's more more machure than The Slim Shady LP, but less that than The Marshall Mathers LP.(If you haven't heard much about Encore, check out plenty of reviews and ratings before getting it. If you're like most, you'll be very disappointed.) Curtain Call, the singles album is a mixture of all four.

The main problems with this album: too many skits.(6 out of 20 tracks to be exact.) In my opinion, the only skits that should've been here are the intro, and possibly Ken Kaniff. Both of those are funny, and do have a place. The most useless would probably be Soap, which makes no sense. At all. The other problem, a few songs, such as Role Model, and maybe even Cum On Everybody could've been a verse or so longer. Cum On Everybody has a terrible reputation. I think it's actually pretty decent.

Role Model is probably the least popular single Eminem ever had. It's about how kids may be influenced by him. The other single that wasn't that popular is Guilty Conscience. The first time I heard it, I HATED it, and thought it was actually a serious song(where the hell could I get that idea from). Then I saw the video with a different narrator, and a chorus. I realized it is about killing people, and part of it child-molestation, but it's pretty funny actually. Now I like it.

Still Don't Give A **** is A LOT like Marshall Mathers from The Marshall Mathers LP in my opinion. Partly the topic, but especially the music. Parts of the beats sound only slightly different.

It seems like on every album, there's one that doesn't fit. This album's standout is 97' Bonnie & Clyde, where he kills Kim, and throws her in the ocean, while Hailie has to witness it is a good moment of this album. It's kind of sad that it was never popular. The cover picture is a preview of this song, I think. He talks in baby talk to Hailie, and the very end is kind of like the end of Hailie's Song.

Someone told me that a lot of songs on here have partners on The MMLP. It's true: '97 Bonnie & Clyde goes with Kim. Cum On Everybody goes with Drug Ballad. Just Don't Give A **** goes with criminal. Still Don't Give A **** goes with Marshall Mathers. It seems like there are even a few others. You may see what I mean.

Reccomended tracks: #1. 14. Rock Bottom: This song is one of the serious ones on here. It's slow, and makes you feel bad for Slim Shady, especially during the chorus, when he says how he hit Rock Bottom. (5/5)

#2. 17. As The World Turns: This song is hilarious. It's about how Eminem has been a trouble maker for a very long time. He talks about hilarious, as he calls "everyday obstacles," the beat's great, and I especially like the chorus. (5/5)

#3. 15. Just Don't Give A ****: All of us feel like this, at least once and a while. It's funny, but rapped in a serious tone. The chorus is cool, and funny. I like the beat, (it's slow and unusual) but it gets on my nerves once and a while for some reason. I just don't know why. (5/5)

#4. 18. I'm Shady: This isn't too popular. It has a catchy chorus, and what I consider an excellent beat. He talks about how he can get drugs for you, and in part tells how he does do some drugs, but there are some that he avoids. This one I mainly like for the chorus, the beats and production, and how he's Shady. (5/5)

#5. 2. My Name Is: This is pretty easily the most popular song on this album, and is made for the beginning. I like the verses, and the production, but I hate the repetitive chorus. This is is good first song, so it gets 5/5.

This album is plain hilarious, and Just Don't Give A ****ish. I can't think of many similar albums for this. It seems to grow on you more, as you listen to it more. If you like The Marshall Mathers LP, you should get this. Even if you don't like Eminem albums you have or have heard, you still just may need this... So I'll give this 4.5/5.

Yeah, I know this is kind of short, but this is my first non-tbt. I couldn't think of that much to put into it. Edit: Now that I look at it, maybe it's not very short. I don't know. This Message Edited On 07.29.06

It's still kind of a track by track, just not a whole one. Still, not a bad effort, especially for a third review. However, your grammar and spelling is off in some places, and most people prefer reviews with proper spelling/grammar/punctuation. You should write your reviews in Microsoft Word, that way you can save them, do spellcheck, and other nifty things. Then, copy and paste it you know. Keep it up :thumb:

good work, improved from your last two efforts. I definitely second what Bron says though, the spelling and grammar are kind of irritating and look very un professional.

If it gets on your nerves, even if its only once and a while, why would you give it a 5/5 and why would it be a reccomended track?
