Review Summary: sugar honey ice and tea

I'll be honest, I'm disappointed. Not because of the quality of the music. It's pretty good musicianship from a band who have been constantly evolving their sound over a decade . But disappointed because I've come to realize that the Sempiternal days I grew loving are long gone.

The record has caught up an interesting theme, rotating mostly around sarcasm and love. 'MANTRA' is a typical arena rock piece will get the crowd dancing and stop to a SIRI voice saying " Mantra ". 'in the dark' talks about getting cheated on. other singles like 'sugar honey ice and tea', 'medicine' incorporate poppy and electronic elements while 'i don't know what to say' incorporates orchestral elements to complement an already diverse album. Despite the diversity, the tracks do not fall out of place and as is the norm since 'Sempiternal' the production is well done. Oliver's vocals have drastically improved while Jordan Fish has added another dimension with his keyboard and production

All said and done, there are certain tracks that basically that are basically bland. 'ouch' didn't add much 'mother tongue' albeit well written is already and tried and tested formula and does not do justice to an otherwise good album. You also feel that there is an edge missing in amo after two listens which couldn't be said for 'Sempiternal' and 'That's the Spirit' for that matter.

In Conclusion, Bring Me the Horizon really coudn't give a damn about what you say and will keep making whatever music they want to make. Its a good listen. Not metal. but good music

yeah, for a first review... this one's rough. grammatical errors galore, and you actually manage to go less in-depth than that other Amo review I negged.

Inconsistent tone, grammatical errors and lack of overall impression in the writing.

For your next review I'd focus on opening with a thesis statement (a sentence that summarizes the impression of the review), then use the rest of the review to elaborate on that thesis statement.

I think this will give your writing the clarity and direction this review lacks.

It's hilarious how his review summary clearly states "shit" yet he still gave the album 3/5.

Welcome to the site!

I'll toss you a 'pos' for the effort and because this was your first attempt, however - as a user a couple posts up outlined - you should run things through a standard grammar check before posting. Also try reading it aloud to yourself, sometimes that helps iron out awkward phrasings. You may also want to flesh out your reviews in order to bolster your claims with more detailed supporting arguments.

There's a proofreading thread on the site forum if you're ever interested in additional feedback.
