Sublime- Sublime
The Band:
Brad-guitar vocals
Eric-Bass
Bud-Drums
This album was their third original album and their last. It was release briefly after Brad Brad (lead singer and guitarist) died. Though their career was very short they most certainly proved a point.
Who are they?
Are they just three blokes from LBC (long beach California) that made it? Are they just some people who want to rise up, or are they musical masterminds who were caught up in drug abuse?
What are they?
Are they white boy gangsters, punk rockers, reggae inspired group of kids? You pick what they are.
The rap side:
I guess you could say that the rap starts right out of the gate, but I disagree. Their first track Garden Groove isn't pure rap. It is a mix between all of the genres. It's a good song though. The real rap starts a little late but it gets there. Their #4 track April 29, 1992 (Miami) is a gangster rap song about holding up stores. Nowell uses his lyrical genius in this. The rap part of this album is very weird but cool like in one of the insane rap songs The Balled of Johnny Butt. Just the title of it is. Their rap gets very heavy for their last song Doin' Time. Once again this shows their brilliance.
The punk side:
They have a very big punk rock side also. Their first one on the album is the very popular, very catchy What I Got. Or they could show this off with the famous favorite song Wrong Way. They're on a punk winning streak when the more mellow and fast Wrong Way goes into the hardcore Same in the End. It is broken by a song mentioned above and then picks right back up with a laid back Santeria. Then comes in the fast, hard Seed. The next punk song is almost identical to Seed. Paddle Out is once again hard and fast but too short. Under My Voodoo is the next punk masterpiece. Not too fast but still like the others. Bud shows off for this section the most.
The reggae side:
Garden Groove is the first one. As I mentioned before it is reggae and rap put together. Jailhouse is a great reggae song on this album. It is very similar to Garden Groove yet very different. Jailhouse A lot harder and heavier. Jailhouse leads right into Pawn Shop. These triplets of songs make this album very versatile. Burritos eventually comes in and it is very fast pace. Get Ready is a reggae classic. Get Ready leads into the very sensual Caress Me Down. Brad speaks a lot of Spanish for this. All these reggae songs make the album special. Brad can show of with his guitar in this section.
Pros:
The mix of genres
Brad's reggae style guitar
Brad's lyrics
Cons:
The order of songs
Brad died
Recommended tracks:

These guys would be one of the best bands to roam the earth. Since they had one very short career it is an opportunity lost to change the way we look at music.
