I got this album in the mail last week and have been listening to it on and off ever since.
But I must say I am a little disappointed in it, though there are moment’s of brilliance it is an average album by a band who I think could do a lot better.
The first song It’s All Over is one of the better of the album, the vocals really make this song, while the guitar isn’t to fancy it proves to be a good solid opener.
Pain is the next song and it doesn’t really do that much for me. The backing vocals going “Pain” every line during the chorus doesn’t help me like this song either, getting really annoying after a few listens.
After Pain comes my favourite song on the album.
Animal I Have Become is the first single and by far the best song. I can’t find anything wrong with this song (if only all the tracks were like this).
Catchy bass riff starts the song off then the guitar and drums come in followed by the vocals.
The chorus “So what if you can see, the dark inside of me, no one would ever change this animal I have become” is damn catchy and just makes me want to sing along.
Track 4 and we go into acoustic guitar verses and blasting choruses. Never Too Late reminds me of their last album in many ways and is a good listen.
On My Own is pretty weak but as soon as it gets to the chorus it makes up for what it lacked in the verses.
Riot is another good song on the album. “Lets Start a Riot” is the message in this song. It’s about not being treated right and rising up against it.
Get Out Alive is the last really good song on the album and has beautiful guitar and vocals which makes it one of the best on the album.
Let It Die, Over And Over, Time Of Dying and Gone Forever are all ok songs but I really cant get into them at all.
The last track One X, the title track for the album, is nothing new but is a nice solid finishing song. I piratically like the end part of the song with the chant “Stand Above The Crowd”
Over all I think it’s an average album and they could have done better, but I still recommend you check it out, if only for a couple of the songs.
