Review Summary: A masterpiece.

Erra’s debut album Impulse shook me emotionally upon first listen, and to this day has provided me with an addictive and enjoyable listen each time it graces my ears.

1: White Noise: The album begins with addictive guitar riffs, with go into a groove that is addictive. As the lyrics and vocals begin it is evident that the hardcore vocalist has an unrelenting deleiver that sends shivers down an accustistied listeners spine, (most likely). The clean vocal while coated with delay effects is a perfect compliement to the unclean vocals. It shines with the melodies he provides throughout the song. High notes and dynamics, as well as deep and effective lyrical content. 9/10

2: Pattern Interrupt: Starting abruptly and building up relentlessly, both vocal complment each other as the guitars lead the way into grooves and spiral into perfect ambienence and melody. The use of effects is perfect for my taste and makes the song multitudes better in quality. Lyrically it morphs in direction throughout the track, from brutal to melodic in both aspects of delivery, 10/10

3: Seven: My favorite hardcore based song of the decade (thus far). Incredible lyrics, delivery, guitar riffes, grooves, effectives drums that complement the moving and melodic guitars. 10/10

4: The Architect: Song leads off with complex riffs and continue with overwhelming structure. As the vocal delivery begins, it is apparent that they were well thought out. They are again effective and pleasant to the trained ear. Drums are used minimal in comparison but go along nicely, as well as the bass. 8/10

5. Efflovescent: Vocal start off in an unbelievable and brutal delivery! Truly remarkable in both directions. Guitars are groovy as well. I cannot stress enough how perfect these songs are in delivery and structure. 8/10

6: Vaalabara: Heavy and effective start. Creative and brutal guitars. Strong and solid song. Palm muted and sweeping riffs are great throughout the song. One of the weaker songs. 7/10

7. Heart: Another beautifully brutal track. Straight out the gate it does not stop. Deep lyrical content once more. This album is an absolute banger. 9/10

8. Obscure Words: One after another these songs just do not let up. I have yet to be totally pulled from my seat so far. I was not expecting the piano part at the beginning. Truly brutal in every aspect. Heaviest song thus far. 9/10

9. Invent: Another absolutely destructive song off the bat. Moving and groovy guitars everywhere. Great assortment of screaming methods. Solid cleans. Drum build ups are effective. 8/10

10. Render the Void: Best song on the album. Absolutely unbelievable in every aspect. The clean section at the end is truly something to admire. 10/10

Yeah this review needs a bit of work.

Try to tone down the track by track a little bit.

You could also try to mesh the instrumental descriptions into a single structure. If multiple songs follow similar patterns you can include them all in one part of your review, or you can simply talk about one and the rest can be heard by the listener.

Clearly it’s too soon to bring back 2011. We need to rethink this.

Talented band , great instruments , amazing harsh vocals. Awful , whiny , grating cleans , band loses all lisenablity for me when they start singing witch is a shame because I really do enjoy the rest of the band.

PS pretty weak review
