This compilation by one of Florida's most legendary and influential Death/Thrash/Progressive band is truly a Classic set of recordings documenting the formative years of this unique and extraordinary band. It includes all 4 of the classic Cynic demos as well as 2 previously unreleased tracks which are rehearsals featuring the lead singer of the Death/Thrash band "Viogression" who were a very good band and were introduced to the members of Cynic through longtime Death friend/manager/producer Eric Grief.
This compilation has a total of 15 tracks and was released on cd and vinyl formats, I highly recommend getting the vinyl edition because not only does it include the cd but it comes with a wonderful inner lyric booklet and includes a history of the band and these recordings by band members themselves as well as metal journalists and has tons of awesome photos from the early Cynic days which include members of Death, Atheist, Cannibal Corpse, Malevolent Creation and many more, it also comes with a 7" record with the 2 rehearsal recordings with Viogression lead singer Brian Deneffe, and the vinyl itself which has the 1991 demo and 1990 demo on side A and the 1989 demo and 1988 demo on side B and was beautifully mastered for vinyl by Patrick Engel (who also recently mastered Immolation's 2nd, 3rd and 4th albums perfectly on vinyl) which brings these AMAZING tracks to life like never before!
So if you're a fan of Cynic, a fan of Floridian Early Death Metal, or a fan of Metal/Progressive Rock in general than you need to have this in your collection. It is worth the $30 brand new at your record store just for the album of demos alone, but you are getting so much wonderful early Florida Death Metal memorabilia as well so it really is the complete package! I just got mine yesterday and was amazed and surprised at how much cool stuff was included in this collection.
