Review Summary: Actually Not Trash

I came into this album with no to low expectations, If I'm being honest I was expecting a train wreck or a car crash at the least. What I wasn't expecting was a smooth often thoughtful and well crafted debut. This Album isn't perfect it's got some flaws here and there some bars that don't work, a few songs that go on to long, Jadens vocals which often just sounds like passionate humming which he probably uses way more then he should. And Batman still sounds like a rip off of Drakes "Jumpman" rip off.
but despite the few flaws I have with this album they couldn't outweighs the pros of this album on my worst day,

First off the production is God tier,
This Project starts off with the four song into "Blue" which is not only a great bombastic introduction to the album, accompanied by Willows Smiths soothing vocals (Which he should have utilized way more often on this album) with flashy instrumentals to guide it
but also excellently sets the tone for what would follow for the rest of the album
The beats on this project are eccentric it's like a firework the songs feel bright, energetic, alternative and poppy at times it's always exciting and are rarely boring not often losing steam despite the fact that this album is over an hour long it still keeps an incredible momentum
personally theirs not a single song on this album that i feel didn't have a fair amount of thought and effort put into it. For a debut to have as few hiccups as this product does is nothing short of amazing.

But thats not to say that this project is flawless although i enojoyed a good portion of this album there are still moments and songs that feel unnecessary the guiltiest culprit being "Lost Boy."
Which is a 10.00 minute track which easily could've stopped 2 minutes in because after that Jaydens really just crooning the same repetitive noises for another 8 minutes.
The theirs the blatant jump man rip off Batman which is easily one of the most skippable tracks on the album.
Next to the title track "Syre" which is a monologue disguised as a closer which makes the true closer to the album "Rapper" which just sounds like a typical trap banger. not too far behind that are "Watch Me" and "Hope" which are both equally underwhelming.

Then theirs the star of this show Jaden who is very strange.
He sounds like a strange mix of many things he very easily could have been an extra member in odd future or Brockhampton with his odd delivery and subject matter, but also feels like a love Child between Kid Cudi and Childish Gambino but then some of the production sounds like experimental Kanye west throwaways He really sounds like an Amalgamation of Talented artist but at the same time he stays original with his low monotone voice and deivery and zany flow and lyrics, His vocal tone reminds me of Earl Sweatshirt is Earl experimented much much more.
On this project jayden sings hums often switches up his flow
and even shouts his adlibs at times which very very slightly remind me of X on some of his more energetic songs.
All and all it's pretty Bizarre but boring to say the least

It's also surprising to see Jaden hold a good portion of this album by himself and it's also not as terrible wish is great I thought this might be a Childish Gambino situation where the production of the debut is amazing but the rapper hasn't reached a level where he can do the instrumentals proper justice.
The songs I enjoyed the most on this project were Falcon/Icon/The Passion/ Ninety/George Jeff
These songs really display jaden at his best riding the beat far better then Many Artist do on there debut with a great amount of Charisma and energy and his cadence is undeniable on songs like "Icon" and "The Passion" he just completely owns those tracks.
Then on the softer and slower moment Jaden often brings more thoughtful lyrics and his calm voice mends well the gentle soothing production.

The biggest complaint I feel people will have with this Album is Jaydens lyrical ability which is very hit or miss sometimes jayden comes through with clever and thoughtful poetic lines that at times border depressing like something you'd expect from someone in a mid life crisis but more often he's amateurish and pretentious but I think it's pretty obvious that Jayden lives in his own world which explains why he comes of so strange at times.

All and all this is a pretty great Debut by Jaden even if you hate everything about how He raps theirs enough Beautiful instrumentals to make the experience more then bearable for me at least. I'll definitely be keeping a closer eye on this kid for the music he puts out in the future cause this completely blew my expectations out of the water.

Jaden has a great flow through this entire project his lyrics as very strange and often bizarre sometimes he's flexing sometimes he's sad/depressing and comes across like a mix of childish and Cudi/ some times he's thoughtful/ sometimes it feels like he's just drifting It's a hit or miss love hate situation your most either going to love it or hate it.

This is a surprisingly dope album. Jaden has this really odd knack of blending pretentious and visionary nearly perfectly.

This review reminds me of when I see a random comment Where Every Word Is Capitalized Like This and I just wonder what head injury led to this. How do you not know how capital letters work?
