Review Summary: God's in His Heaven, All's Right with the World

I stumbled upon this Evangelion themed power-violence band while trekking through a small time record label that hosts itself to hentai themed grindcore bands. I was immediately interested upon seeing a post promoting this trio as it was told they centered around the popular 90s anime Neon Genesis Evangelion

And to that it was , with the lyrics of each and every song connecting itself to certain characters or scenes shown in the multiple animations. The first song for example describes and seemingly puts themselves in the shoes of Shinji Ikari , describing his time in the hospital with Asuka. Viewers of the show listening would immediately understand what the song was about even from the title of the song along (I'm So ***ed Up). Although you don't need to be particularly familiar with the anime; those unknown to the show could easily draw different meaning , but it’s important to know the Evangelion aspects push this album to its best.

The music itself is constantly in your face , showing no slowing down for its 18 minute span. From the Emotionally provoked In Her Aura to the Hate filled Tar Mouth to the Nihilistic The Third Impact , Human Instrumentality constantly barks and bites in your face , with an appropriately raw and toned down quality that perfectly fits its violent sound. The vocalist showcases pure aggression and violence with every screech and scream, perfectly centering himself around the instrumentals.

Those looking for a darker take on Powerviolence will be pleasantly surprised , even more so to Evangelion fans. I hope to see more destructive violence from Sachiel in the future , as they showcase an amazing amount of potential.
