Review Summary: The best band in the world came together to create the best debut album ever made and one of the best albums ever made by any band. Anyone who disagrees doesn't know shit about anything.

The year is 1999. The state of real and heavy music is doing well. However there are plenty of things that should be better. Korn, after two of the most emotional and br00tally heavy albums ever made (KoRn and Life Is Peachy) began making mainstream music so even mother***ing preps could say they like Korn. Limp Bizkit became huger and huger and awesome bands like Coal Chamber were around. What was needed was something truly heavy and emotional and br00tal as *** to shake things up and show that modern music could be br00tal and heavy and emotional. Enter Slipknot. The best ***ing band who ever lived.

Slipknot's debut album combines heavy death metal with emotional melody to create a very heavy and raw sound. The drums, with the genius additional of two "custom percussionists" allowed there to be a dense background of sonic fury and really created a heavy backdrop for the other heavy elements. The guitars are hard and heavy. Creating a layer of hatred and anger and expressing the feelings of anyone who has ever been made fun of or rejected by bull*** preppy mainstream culture. The added benefit of BOTH a DJ and sampler (someone who focuses and plays sampled sounds) added a whole other dimension to the sound. All of this allow genius lyricist and vocalist Corey Taylor to create tales of ultimate expression and pain and hate and anger.

A track by track review would stupid considering that this album has no filler whatsoever and from the opening moments of 742617000027 (which is just an intro but is still ***ing awesome) to the hidden track Eeyore the album grabs you and forces you to see the dark side of life which is apparent in all things. Corey Taylor actually outdoes Johnathan Davis with the final track Scissors. Where Johnathan Davis simply cried and screamed on the Korn song Daddy Corey Taylor takes this pain to a whole new level. I've heard rumors that Corey Taylor was naked and cut up and threw up during this song. That is TRUE emotion. TRUE PAIN HATE AND ANGER. This album would get a classic rating if it only had the song Scissors but that just shows you how awesome and genius this album is. An album of TRUE RAW FEELING. Only one band has managed to make something heavier and emotional then this and it was Slipknot on their next alhum IOWA!

All in all. Slipknot is simply one of the greatest albums ever made and the greated debut album ever made by the greatest band ever made. The new "heavy" music that came out in later years only borrowed from this album in terms of raw energy and hateful emotion. Emotions that are real unlike the dumbass conformist preps who thing that IT'S OKAY TO RUIN LIVES AND REJECT AND MAKE FUN OF AND BULLY PEOPLE *** YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

In the immortal words of Slipknot which are also included in the booklet for this album, *** IT ALL! *** THIS WORLD! *** EVERYTHING THAT YOU STAND FOR! DON'T BELONG! DON'T EXIST! DON'T GIVE A ***! DON'T EVER JUDGE ME!
