Review Summary: Run of the mill, could be better. Abominable is a Russian death metal band that was active ever since the early 2000's, when metal was evolving quite a bit in the music scene. They released their debut album "In the End of Human Existence" back in 2007, which I came across quite frequently in playlists or whatever. Their sound wasn't anything special, just run of the mill deathcore/slam or whatever the *** you want to call it. I'm not going to go too in-depth with this album (Like I do normally), but I will try my best. One of my friends had an extra copy of this album, so he gave it to me. I popped it in and gave it a listen. First thing I would like to say is I know the intro from anywhere, dead space; really ties in with the album art by the way. I'm not doing a track by track i'm just going to talk about the overall quality sound and production of the album. Overall I think that this is a phenomenal album by all means, raw guitars and deep, crunchy bass. Drums are fantastic, a lot of poly-metric grooves implemented. I am going to sound really biased when I saw that Mattie Way is probably one of the most talented death/slam vocalists out there, he has a very dark and evil voice that just gives me chills. The only problem with the vocals is that about 99.98% of them are pig squeals, which is fine but overused. There were also some feat. vocals in some songs including: Corey Athos (Flesh Consumed), A.J. Magana (Deprecated), Angel Ochoa (Cephalotripsy), but they don't sound any different. The only problem I have with this album is that I think it's kind of boring. They implemented some technicality which I noted but it's mostly low chugging riffs and blast beats (typical); I honestly could fall asleep to this album. Nothing really stands out, but i'm not going to say it's bad by any means, it represents this genre very well. My favorite song would probably have to be the opening track "Remnants Of The Tortured", it's very catchy and hard hitting at the same time, I like the bridge in the song. Long story short I think this is a great album, but could have used some tweaks with stuff such as vocals, and riffs could expand a bit. I can say in conclousion that this is one of my favorite slam albums to say the least.

dunno bout this review or reviewer
but i just wanted to chime in and say this band is painfully overrated on this site
dunno if its because of that infidel amsterdam guy on youtube or what, but this is merely tolerable at best
and i guess merely tolerable might mean above average when compared to the rest of the genre but yea 3.7 are you fucking kidding me lmao

Just let the slams take you away
| | | Album Rating: 3.5
Yeah, played this after reading the review (which is pretty bad, by the way) because I have only heard their first album. I let the slams take me away and had a good time. I don't slam often these days, but this was good. I like it best when they throw in some nice leads, like on the T/T.

This is one of the few albums of this style that I enjoy
Most others remind me of that shitty downtempo-metal movement that started in the 2010s and is hopefully on the decline.

This album is pretty good. Check out Blade of Horus' album Monumental Massacre from the beginning of the year. It's the best slam I've heard. The riffing is more technical so it's like a mix of death metal and slam.

easily one of the best slam albums out there but in the scope of brutal death as a whole it's nothing special
