Review Summary: Just, what?

If you had told me a year ago that OM&M were going to put out a generic rock/nu-metal album with mostly clean vocals i would have been stoked. I have had faith in Aaron Pauley ever since he did " They Said a Storm Was Coming" when he was the front man of Jamie's Elsewhere, so naturally i would have thought that he would have sang his heart out. That is not the case, There is no heart, soul, or emotion of any kind to be found anywhere in this album from the wanna be Slipknot rip off that is "Pain" to "Break Stuff" pt.2 that is "Relentless". From start to finish the listener just feels, bored. This album is absolutely, painfully boring in every sense of the word. When i was listening to it i actually found myself at a loss for words at how generic this album is. This is the same band that put out "The Flood" and while i know evolution is necessary in music to stay fresh and relevant you at least need some substance within that evolution. At least Bring me The Horizon had "Drown" and "Doomed" Within "That's The Spirit" in other words, they evolved and while they changed their sound they kept all the emotion and meaning. I am looking forward to their next album, to see if they will continue down this path that will ultimately make them the most popular WWE band of all time or if they actually make a metal album that conveys, anything, whatsoever

I don't even care that Of Mice & Men all but completely abandoned their core sound; my issue is it's...

Caleb Robinson CONTRIBUTOR (1)
'Cold World' is not only Of Mice and Men's worst album to date, but is one of the worst albums of 20...

Zachery Cotto (2)
Lacking identity and heart, Cold World is just as its name implies....

A weak album that smacks of complacency...

This could have just been a soundoff.

It's not terribly written, you just need to expand and write more. Agreed, album sucks ass though

I agree with others, could've been soundoff or should've been longer, but I'm glad someone else pointed out the similarity to BMTH's That's the Spirit in terms of evolution.

This album isn't even that bad. It's like the most inoffensive record of the year.

who would want to listen to the most inoffensive record of the year?
I've never even listened to this band, but that description sounds awful

I agree that TTS isn't anything special, but I can jam like two or three track off it and Doomed is better than anything on this album.

I enjoyed That's the Spirit, BMTH's second best album imo. Me and my friends listened to this album last night to take the piss, and we realised Relentless is literally a rip of Break Stuff, the lyrics, the chord progression, the style, everything. How desperate do you have to be to rip off Limp Bizkit

That's the Spirit is plenty better than this

It is, I just use the comparison because both bands decided to go for that kind of nu-metal style.

I have no desire to hear this, especially if it really rips off bands like Limp Bizkit.

I've only been here 3 years and so many users have left in that time, makes you think.
