Release Date: 2006 | Tracklist

Heres the tracklist on the official cd which was released in the uk 22 may 2005

1.Valkyrie Missle
2.Distraction
3.Do It For Me Now
4.The Adventure
5.A Little's Enough
6.The War
7.The Gift
8.It Hurts
9.Good Day
10.Start The Machine
11.The Machine (Bonus Track)
12.Do It For Me Now (Live Bonus Track)

As Tom Delonge has been hyping up this album for a long time now saying it's the best music he's ever made its going to change a lot of things he even said he was going to take over the world at one point.

1.Valkyrie Missile - 6:39 - The Opening track starts with a communications from space to earth as it is potray over an creeping riffs, samples and organs the track eventually starts to come together around 1:17 and follows on with still a longish intro. at around 2:40 the track kicks in with everything a little like the adventure but with not as much impact it again slows down in the chorus and is just mainly tom singing and other sounds.
3.5/5

2.Distraction - 5:36 - Again another longish intro but does actually get boring with a echoey synthy start leading into the guitar thn drums and finally round the 1:30 mark the track immediatley kicks in the chorus though it all sounds so bland and uninspiring, with the synth 'noise' basically rinign thru the verses and the bridges on the song the is rather repetitive. 2.5/5

3.Do It For Me Now - 4:33 - starts again with another sample with carrys through the verses but it does sound better than the other tracks although the tremolo type riff that plays through the intro of the adventure is there at the start and through some of the verses, maybe it is all leading up to the next track and they were trying to be kind of concept although this song is great. and the best track so far with a good solid chorus and although the verses of the other songs sound similarish this one stands at this point. 4/5

4.The Adventure - 5:12 - The first single off the album as a lot of you might now again this track has a great intro but makes up for it with powerful drums and vocals throughout the verses, leading up to a great chorus with thunderous drums bridging back into a blink esque riff leading back into another chorus.it seems that the album has a slow start and it is starting to get better. 4.5/5

5. A Littles Enough - 4:45 - samples kicks off this track and a organ leading into toms vocals again it isnt easy listening and comesd over quite bland though lyrically it is but ther isnt any drums till like 2 minutes into the song maybe its supposedly quite ballad-ish seems just like another filler song for the record than a stand out track. 3/5

6. The War - 5:07 - great thundering drum beat overlapped with hand claps kicks of the start of the record which then leads to a straight forward riff the liven things up a bit at last but doesnt come back until the chorus although it a lot more uplifting than the a lot of the other tracks and will definately be a crowd favourite, possible next single. 4/5

7. The Gift - 5:02 - yet AGAIN ANOTHER average track that fails to have any impact at all just very samey cant really be described as any different to the other tracks except the war and the adventure, although it has an ok chorus it doesnt do anything for me at all and just drones on and on for a lengthy 5 minutes. 2.5/5

8.It Hurts - 4:14 - quite a promising start with a break of drums every now and then before tom says it hurts and kicks off with the music the line 'it hurts' is repeated a lot before it goes into the chorus
gets a lot more better toward the end of the song and is an ok track but then again with all the hype this isnt really where the band should be heading at this point of the album at all. 3/5

9. Good Day - 4:30 - the synth start instantly reminded me of the adventures chorus a lot of you might think the same when you ( if you) buy the record but again slow verses and bland chorus's
now the album just really starts to get very boring and uninspiring there is just nothing to it i cant be described as it just sounds so much the same as everything else. 2.5/5

10. Start The Machine - 4:11 - starts with what seems like a xylophone or some kind of kids toy but kicks into a very bassy sounding riff and dubbed drums which nicely links to tom vocals but you just know there isnt going to a huge stand out chorus or anything at all it. 3/5

11. The Machine - 3:42 - Nicely links from the end of start the machine but yet... again.... nothing at all
another intro which sound so much like other it has quite a rocky riff before it slows down into a very familiar sounding chorus to everything else uve heard it doesnt realy have a chorus except the heavyiest riff on the album which occured at the start for the chorus really. 3/5

12.Do It For Me Now - 4:39 - A very good live sounding but doesnt really sound any different than the studio version at all which mite be good if you like but there is nothing there at all to make it any better whatsoever. 4/5

OVERALL it might sound like i am really slating this album a lot but i was infact looking forward to it very much though it is a BIG dissapointment im not saying everyone wont like it at all though it is a very average record and very bland to be honest and really doesnt live up the hype Tom has inflicted on it at all
a very big letdown. to give credit it is a very well made record but just so soft and nowhere to awe inspiring as i was hoping.

OVERALL RATING - 3/5

The fact that you constantly compared most of these songs to The Adventure was annoying, seeing as by the end of the review we have no real idea what The Adevnture sounded like, apart from the fact that it had drums and vocals.
Anyway, a few points of advice-
1) Grammar
2) If you're gonna do a t-b-t, don't describe every song the same way, even if they are samey
3) Never believe the pre-release hype about anything, ever
and-
4) Never expect Tom DeLonge to come up with something 'awe-inspiring'This Message Edited On 05.22.06

"Oh look, one of the most popular pop-punk bands I was in broke up. Now I need to redeem myself and look all serious even though the band just sucks."

If it is released in any part of the world then it's legit.

This album sucks, from what I've heard of it. Blink 182's s/t ftw. Your review isn't very good. I'm looking foward to Iluvatar's much more.

The single sounds like U2 dumbed down for pop-punk kids and given the nasal treatment.

The next single (It Hurts) sounds like the first single, dumbed down even more.

i dont think the adventure was a good single to start and to introduce the band there are far better songs than the adventure. The rewiev has to have much more detail mm it didnt helped much.

It's not that bad. It's going to get bad press because Tom is a tool, but whatever. Solid pop-rock album for those interested in it. I for one am not.

Yeah, it does. It makes the review easier to read, and more professional.

If you can't be bothered to type out your thoughts in proper English, then why should I be bothered to read it?
