The Central Park Concert
Dave Matthews Band is known for his large collection of live recordings. All of these releases are really good and very professional. I have seen all of their live DVD and this one is the best. It’s probably one of the best live DVD I’ve ever seen. Dave Matthews Band is an awesome live band and this DVD is the proof.
The Sound
The sound of this DVD is probably the best I’ve ever heard. The only word that came to your head is : WOW!. It’s a crystal clear production and you catch every moment like you were there. All the instrument are clearly audible in opposition of the Live at Folsom Field DVD. You can hear the crowd easily but it doesn’t kill the band performance. You can choose between two audio features: Classic 2.0 PCM stereo or 5.1 Surround.
The Visual
Like the sound, the visual quality is one of the best I’ve ever seen. The Stage is well Lightened, and looks great. You can see the crowd really well and it gets you like you were there. The Night add a nice effect to the concert visual.
The Performance
These guys are incredible. I mean, there’s no mistake and they’re not boring on the stage. Dave Matthews madnesses are fun to watch. Carter Beaufort seems in good shape and happy to be there. Every other member are good too. It’s nice to see Warren Hayne, a great guitar player, perform during Cortez, The Killer and Jimi Thing. The only weak point is that Crash Into me, a classic DMB song is not played.
Features
This DVD feature a live concert of more than two hours. It’s long! Some bonus are there but nothing special. It doesn’t seems to be DMB priority. But it would have been cool to see more footage or videos. It think it’s sad that the DVD is on two seperate Disc. It breaks the atmosphere that you get on the first disc.
Overall
This is an amazing show. A must for a DMB fan and the ones that wanna discover this band. The quality is amazing. Every live DVD should be like that. If it had more bonus it would be a killer DVD. You won’t be dissapointed cause it’s worth the price.
