Release Date: 2004 | Tracklist

Energy, brutality, originality, those are some of the things that define Sicks Deep as a band.Kelly Abe(vocals),Gavin Pirell(guitar),Mike Zamir(guitar),Anthony Falsetti(bass),and Nick Andrews(drums),bring a brutal assault of skill and determination in their music, and beleive me,it shows in their debut EP ''The Blackacre Sessions''.You might have seen these guy's back in 2004,on mtv's ''battle for ozzfest'',where Sicks Deep were one of the finalists. They didn't win,but managed to gain loads of exposure and increase their fanbase. While ''battle for ozzfest''was going on,Sicks Deep was busy writing ''The Blackacre Sessions''which even gained more exposure,as they are now getting demands from all over the country, drawing large crowds and selling out merchandise. They are also getting some airplay,as well as interviews with various radio stations. All of this because of a five-song EP(not bad huh!?)but before I say too much, let's get to the tracklist.

1.omnipotence-a great way to start of the album,it explodes with a brutal riff that goes on for about forty seconds...then mixes with Kelly Abe's unique screaming.I really enjoy listening to his screaming
because you can actually understand what he is saying.(unlike many
other metal bands that seem to speak gibberish)every time I hear
this song it makes me want to rip someone's head off of their shoulders.
overall, omnipotence is a good song and a great choice for an opener. 4/5

2.proof-this is the song that got me into Sicks Deep,it simply blew my
mind.I couldnt beleive that a band with this much talent could be somewhat
unkown...the song starts off silent, and then slowly builds up to some nice
and heavy guitar work, and then goes to a lighter, more mystical sound for
about five seconds, and then goes to a faster pace without Kelly Abe
screaming, but instead singing some lyrics that you can definetly relate
with. The best part about this song is the change of pace, and the vibe
of the song...as it goes from lighter to heavier riffs and vocals.Leaving
a great melodic sound to listen to for about five minutes. This song
definetly gets a 5/5

3.last rites-this is the most average song on this cd,not that it is bad,
it just isn't as mindblowing as the other songs on the cd.It features
some solid playing by the drummer and both guitarists,as well
as Kelly screaming throughout the song(much like omnipotence)
it's a good choice to put this song after ''proof''since proof was so
good, and since this song is average compared to it.So I give it a 3/5

4.penalty-this lacks when it comes to vocals, but the playing is good.
It has a catchy riff in the beginning and also has some great double
bass.I would have to say that is the best part of the song, the drummers
timing and his use of the double bass. This song picks up the little slack
that ''last rites''had with their energetic sound and originality. 3.5/5

5.brainwash-this song definetly has the most energy, with it's superb
screaming, guitar work, and drumming.Every band member has an equal
role in this song and thats why it is one of the better ones. The thing that
stands out the most would have to be the chorus, which features some
powerful guitar work and its two second pause. The song rocks out then
pauses...rocks out then pauses...and so on.Just like ''proof''they pull off
the change of pace successfully and manage a great sound. The best
possible ending to this cd. 5/5

Sicks Deep is definetly a band that is expanding it's popularity and fanbase,
and I really hope to see more of them.

Yeah, I do seem to recall these guys from Battle of Ozzfest.

Decent review, just fix up the first paragraph and watch out for some grammer mistakes.

they're horrible. That's all there is to that. Not a bad review, but not a good one, seemed like you were writing a biography for their website or something.

I agree with Trev... they're one of the worst bands I've ever heard.

Wiggers, at that. Drunken wiggers who are highly arrogant... "We're the Motley Crue of 2004!"...and the guy's actions on the show made no case for the band; they're just in it for the sex drugs and money.
