Review Summary: So bad that it's good.

This is one of those albums you listen to when you want noise blaring in your ears for 30 minutes with no sign of stopping. Glorious grind-infused noise with outrageous vocals and even more outrageous guitar work. I mean seriously, the guitars are turned up so ***ing loud that you can barely hear the drumming just enough to tell that there is some sort of intended rythm going on somewhere. Though I can't actually frown upon the guitars because all of the riffs are so damn catchy. Mostly sounding like drop b tuned bar chords with typical 1,2,3,4 progression and insanely overkill distortion.

Vocals are also a major part of this work of brilliant ***. Even though I couldn't understand half of what was being said, I still found them insanely entertaining in how they were executed. On the track "Neko Neko Knuckle" the vocalist almost sounded like he was attempting to scream the words to "Who Let the Dogs Out", which by itself, if you know what I'm talking about, is hilarious by itself. Now of course in addition to this you will hear the occasional "post-vomiting" vocals which are common to the gore grind music scene. These are executed terribly in the greatest way. Almost seeming to make fun of other gore grind bands.

A major point in preventing this from getting full points is the lack of noise equalization. Sure, like I said earlier, it is a very satisfying type of noise overkill, but I'm sure they could have done better. Personally I love having distortion blaring in my face. I'm a metalhead, it's a given. But I also need to be able to hear the other parts of the recording in order to thoroughly enjoy my listening experience. Having a balance of sound is what drives the music and makes it feel like more than just noise. Even groups like Anaal Nathrakh that have a reputation for being noisy still have enough balance to tell instruments apart from each other and hear the fullness of the recording. This however, does not.

In the grand scheme of things this isn't down right terrible, but it's not something I've wanted to listen to more than a couple of times. However "Neko Neko Knuckle" is a promising keeper, as it does stand out the most. That being said, only listen to or purchase this record if you are a straight up grind fan that just loves to soak in the glorious noise without worrying about the quality of what your ears are partaking of.

11/10 album cover.
Try to limit it to one review a day, though.

Guro porn is literally one of the most offensive mediums of all time and if you encourage this shit band and Jig-Ai or whatever you are probably a terrible person.

glorifying sexual violence is so cool

I don't hate this kind of music but I can't say to be a fan either. The fact that the cover artwork for Go-Zen's Hinamatsuri depicts a character I'm familiar with doesn't help in the slightest, it's pretty off-putting (not that I want to really approach them, but still).

Also, as some have already said, limit to one review a day. It pushes other's reviews off the front page and is generally an unwritten rule of the site to keep reviews to once a day at max. As Frippertronics said.

Album is mediocre at best. Some of the riffs are cool but the vocals are for the most part pretty bland, I personally don't like the 'distortion ALL THE TIME' thing they've got going on and it's at least 10 minutes too long.

Trust me, I am NOT condoning the album cover nor the subject matter, which is just not cool to put it basically.

I take it weeaboos and soccer moms are feeling unnerved by the illustration? Like toolhed said, no matter how fucked up the artwork is, it's all tongue-in-cheek. You can argue that the album cover being TIC softens not one blow, but regardless of how grotesquely alluring or unapproachable it might be, it's still a joke. Kinda like Go-Zen's sound, if you will kek

Shit, you called me out on being a soccer mom. But yeah, I guess I can't argue with that either. It's a bit hypocritical of me to like a Cannibal Corpse cover but not this, although I prefer to listen to Cannibal Corpse so maybe it's just a warping due to that.

both of your arguments (@toolhed and angelboros) are completely fallacious. you can say "its a joke" to literally anything to try and rationalize it, that still doesnt make it funny. just because something is tongue and cheek doesnt make it not offensive. and being that guy that goes "XD XO :] !! hahahah this joke makes you mad haha ur sensitive" just makes you look unforgivably socially ignorant.

you can make jokes about rape and race and homosexuality too. that doesnt mean you should. and that also doesn't mean that people arent going to think your a cunt when u say "but its a joke!!!"

glorified sexualized violence against women isn't funny. its about as lowbrow as you can get. this kind of shit is actually a huge social issue and making jokes about it perpetuates patriarchal bullshit and the extremely disproportionate levels of violence towards women

as for the weeaboo soccer mom shit and being unnerved...

its called having a conscious. which you clearly don't. any decent human being would be offended by scummy garbage like this and frankly you should both be ashamed of yourselves for the mind blowing stupidity of those two comments you made.

arguing that extreme fetish art (guro in this case) perpetuates real violence is a stretch to me

are you literally retarded? anything that perpetuates patriarchal views and reinforces that kind of a society is damaging to women and peoples attitudes.

mass media and society at large (i.e. social stigma against rape victims, domestic violence etc) does far more damage than a few otaku freaks getting their rocks off

mass media is a part of society and so are these "otaku freaks getting their rocks off". again it all perpetuates patriarchy, which IS our society at large and includes all of those things you listed. besides even if that weren't the case what you are saying is that because one thing isnt as damaging as another then the thing that is less damaging shouldnt be a concern and thats ridiculous.

as for this cover, there really isnt anything non-conscentual or degrading about how she's portrayed (which would be more of a red flag to me).... really more of a visual metaphor albeit a gruesome one (check out the chest cavity)

we were talking about guro in general not just this album cover and something doesnt need to be 'consentual' to be offensive, to propagate dangerous attitudes towards women. you seem to have missed the point entirely on pretty much everything.

its extreme but it doesnt have to be played off as a cheap rape joke or something.

nobody said that, i was referring to those two douchebags on the last page whose attitude about stuff like this seems to be "haha ur mad about my terrible offensive joke" or "oh if u dont liek this terrible socially despicable joke u r sensitive haha u are a weeaboo mom haha ha hahah hurp!"

i just don't think that people with extreme fetishes, whether its guro/vore/some of the weirder S&M shit are necessarily in the same category as

you cant just lump all 'extreme fetishes' together like they are all the same. vore and s&m aren't necessarily destructive and gender biased fetishes and they don't belong clumped in with a medium that almost solely focuses on the glorification of violence against female anime characters. crafting a despicable joke album out of the fetishization of female mutilation is absolutely abhorrent.

^ Pretty much this, at worst S&M causes harm between the two consenting individuals and vore is just... whatever the hell. But Guro as a fetish is one that very, very messed up in all aspects.
