Review Summary: Hi Kids Do You Like Violence?
Iconic, dark and edgy is what explains Eminem's major debut. Before this got released, Eminem was doing battles and making tapes. Eminem’s debut ''Infinite'' had some popularity but it didn't give him global success. Eminem teamed up with Legendary MC and Producer ''Dr. Dre'' to make this record influential and successful. The Slim Shady LP is a mixture of hilarity with uptight and pretentious lyrics about stapling his teacher’s nut from a stack of a paper and pissing people off in the most productive way and the bleakness that has a depressing and eerie energy. Hitting Rock Bottom is never fun at all. The lyrical concept is very driven and gloomy. Eminem's alter ego ''Slim Shady'' is a more of a character in the record, taking about his conscience, family struggles, etc.
The concept is consistent and dynamic. The production on The Slim Shady LP is aggressive, it takes that old school element with a haunting vibe that is splendid to hear. Tracks like Guilty Conscience, Rock Bottom, Role Model, If I Had, 97 Bonnie and Clyde are songs that sick out to me the most cause Eminem uses different concepts and images, to see what these tracks really mean. Each track has its own possession and creativity that Eminem and Dr. Dre used a fabulous balance of production and rhyming that made The Slim Shady LP unbelievable and never out of date.
The Slim Shady LP was the start of a legendary career. Eminem presented his true talents... anywhere from his rhyming skills, lyrical ability and his imaginative mind that made The Slim Shady LP a fantastic record that brings out a timeless energy for many generations to come.
