Review Summary: This E.P. is one of my favourite Feeder releases to date; a true masterpiece. There are only two tracks, but both are solid and each have exceptional re-listening value.
"Chicken On A Bone" is the heavier of the two and possesses the same grungey vibe given off by other tracks released by Feeder on other releases in the 90s; swim for instance. For me, "Pictures of Pain," the second track in Two Colours, more closely resembles 2004's Pushing The Senses, or at least Echo Park. If you're not familiar with other Feeder releases, it's safe to say that "Pictures of Pain" carries more of a pop feel to it - although that doesn't mean it can't rock you, and it does.
One of the few complaints I have about Two Colours (as is the case with Swim, Tangerine, Seven Sleepers etc.), you'll be disappointed when Feeder don't play it in concert, because it's not like it isn't concert material. Two Colours is right up there with the likes of Echo Park and Pushing The Senses, and "Pictures of Pain" would make for a better encore than Just A Day.
