Release Date: 2014 | Tracklist

Review Summary: Conclusion: The Bunny the Bear’s sound has improved a great deal since their first LP in 2010, and that is evident in Food Chain. Every track is worth a listen, and is very pleasing to the ear. The Bunny the Bear fans definitely won’t be disappointed.

The Bunny the Bear is composed of members Matt “The Bunny” Tybor and Chris “The Bear” Hutka. This makes their 5th album, and their 4th on Victory Records. They are known for changing their sound with every album, and Food Chain is no exception.

1. Food Chain: Starts off with an echoing piano and quickly breaks out into heavy guitars and screams from The Bunny. The Bear appears to be absent from this track, which takes away from it a bit, but it is made up for with an intricate guitar solo. An overall great opener for the album. 4/5
2. The Seeds We Sow: As soon as this track begins, your ears are greeted by melodious layered vocals from Chris, and then build up into a heavy chorus with gang vocals and screams from Matt. Near the middle of the song is a breakdown, and Matt shows off his immense vocal talent. 5/5
3. Cancer: One of the softer songs on this album. There is a great deal of beauty in this track’s instrumental, and it is complimented well by equally beautiful vocals, making it one of the best songs on Food Chain. 5/5
4. Pale Green Eyes: Elements of dubstep are present in this track, and are done surprisingly well despite this being a new area for The Bunny the Bear. The vocals on this track are phenomenal, even with The Bear being in this track a very short time. 5/5
5. So Smooth, So Appealing: One of the remakes on this album. Since its demo, extra guitar parts and screams have been added, making this song feel more complete. The improvement in this track is evident. 5/5
6. A Mother’s Love: Includes lines spoken from Matt’s son, Noah. Makes a good interlude, but nothing really stands out. 3/5
7. First Met You: This is one of the more poppy feeling tracks on Food Chain. Has back and forth vocals from Matt and Chris, which blend together nicely. The verses feel unfinished, but are made up for by powerful choruses. 4/5
8. Skyscrapers: This track features guest vocals from Sareena Dominguez. Also has a very upbeat feel, and you may have to resist the urge to sing along after learning the lyrics. A very fun listen. 5/5
9. Flying like a Bird: The last of the remakes from this album, and it also shows signs of growth since the original. The instrumental seem more fitting, and the vocals are better placed, although the gang vocals seem a tad lacking. 4/5
10. A good amount of this song is instrumental, but it is very catchy. When the vocals come in the mix between them and the electronics is outstanding. Has a very good structure. 5/5
11. The intro sounds similar to that of Miley Cyrus’s Wrecking Ball, but I assure you it is MUCH better. Vocals from The Bunny and The Bear are enough to give you goose bumps. This song fades out with an orchestra and more lines from A Mother’s Love. This may be the best song on this album, with its amazing balance of beautiful vocals and instruments. 5/5

if I'm not mistaken you tried this review like three times before you learned it'll get taken down if you post it before the release date without an official stream so good job for finally catching on, but in the future, as aforementioned, try to use paragraphs.

I was gonna review this. Had a couple of listens & thought "I have nothing much to say".

If anything, I feel this is a slight step down.

Bad review, but actually not a bad album, and I hate this entire genre as a rule. This had some surprisingly redeeming qualities, I'd imagine if you're down with the "electronic emo metalcore" scene this is a standout release.

Like clockwork, divisive mask-wearing Buffalo electronicore act The Bunny The Bear return 11 months later with 5th LP 'Food Chain'. Continuing to refine their messy genre-bending, improved production values bring out some layered sounds that add one atmosphere or another. The dual vocal dynamic never really gels though, as The Bunny's screams & growls grate, while auto-tuning The Bear's clean vocals annoys. Again, there’s more than a few hints of potential, but there's still no significant replay value to demand listeners to return. Diarize February 2015 for their next release. Recommended Tracks: High Tides and Swimming Conditions & The Seeds We Sow.

If I were to make a list of the worst post-hardcore bands, The Bunny The Bear would be in the top 5. Absolute garbage.

The band is bad, granted "The Seeds We Sow" was good until the ill advised breakdown in the middle, and I ended up at one of their shows by a strange twist of fate and they aren't bad live. The material is not so great and this review is equally not that great.

Poor review. But to be honest, I can see why a lot of people dislike this band, but I have a soft spot for them. Very dumb, but very fun in specific moments.

Seemed to be a step down on my first listen, but a few tries later, I picked out lots of memorable moments. Actually their best overall release.

To the staff reviewer who claimed the Bear's voice is auto-tuned, your misinformation ruined an otherwise interesting read.
