Aerosmith are one of my favorite bands, especially the 70s era Aerosmith. The band has produced great albums, great songs, and great musicians. Even if some of the newer material by the band tends to sound poppy or overproduced, I can always count on having a good time whenever I throw on Rocks or Toys In The Attic, both from the 70s. So a greatest hits album of all 70s material? Sounds great right?
Wrong. Sure this album features Dream On, Walk This Way, Sweet Emotion. Even their cover of Come Together is nice. But look a little closer than just the track listing. Both Sweet Emotion AND Same Old Song And Dance are cut short for whatever reason. Where's the guitar solo that ended the former track, and where's the rest of the guitar solo that was in the latter track?
Now I'm willing to overlook these little things, because having Back In The Saddle AND Last Child is pretty sweet. But then you look after that. Now Draw The Line is a good song, but Kings and Queens?! Walking in the Sand?! These are average songs that don't nearly compare to Mama Kin, Train Kept A Rollin, Toys In The Attic, Rats In The Cellar, and Nobody's Fault! I mean even Big Ten Inch Record would have been better than Remember.
Really if you want GOOD Aerosmith, don't waste your money on this. Get their first four albums, or even some other form of greatest hits. They have plenty of them to choose from. It's your choice, but trust me this one isn't the way to go.
