Review Summary: There is only one word that can describe this album - Absolutly awesome!!!
The Killers are a band from America. They formed a couple of years ago and since then have been making enjoyable music until the lead singer started getting a bit distant from the band. They then reformed a couple of years ago, and released this: their comeback album.
Battle Born is called Battle Born because it defines the Killers exactly the way they should be. They are warriors. Fighters with their music. Brutal onstage and offstage in the studio they are equally as bloodthirsty and hardcore. Singer Brandon Flowers is a rabid wolverine and holds nothing back on this record. The guitarists shred their guitars and the drummer hits hard like a brick wall of brick. Even the keyboardist should be locked up in jail. This album gets a 5/5 for me and this is why:
1.Flesh and bone - A fantastic opening song which kicks you in the face with a large boot made of boot. 5/5
2.Runaways - This is the lead single from the song so everyone has heard how fantastic it is. I don't need to go into detail then. 4/5
3.The Way it Was - Brandon Flower's vocal writing skill is very linguistic on this song. He has such good delivery that he should work in a maternity ward. 4/5
4. Here with me - The albums first low point. I couldn't believe that the album had to fall so much at this point so I just skip it. 2/5
5.A matter of time - Now here is where the album picks up again. Fantastic guitar on this song. The guitarist is defiantly ranked a mong the best guitarists ever, along with Dave Grohl and Noel Gallagher. Fantastic job. 5/5
6.Deadlines and commitments - Flowers brings back the poetry for this song, and when you combine that with the talented musicians you're in for one hell of a song - 4/5
7.Miss Atomic Bomb - This could well be the greatest song the Killers have ever made. It's so brutal it doesn't even sound like a Killers song. If you're going to download a song, make it this one. - 4/5
8.The Rising tide - This song is another letdown, but luckily it's not as bad as the other letdown, so don't skip it, just listen to half of it. - 3/5
9.Heart of a girl - Defiantly the best song on this album. Listen and you will see why - 5/5
10.From here on out - The Killers have such skill that they can go into pretty much any genre effortlessly and this song is a great example of that - 4/5
11.Be Still - Now this is a song that showcases the bass layers ability to slap and pop without breaking a sweat. What a guy. What a band. What a song - 5/5
12.Battle Born - This is it. The title track, and by far the Killers most epic. The rage and emotion on this song is on another level to everything else on here. The only way to describe it would be breathtaking. Simply outstanding. I am running out of words to describe it. Please please listen to this!! - 4/5
Overall I don't want to sound too fan boyish here, I've tried to review this album with an open mind and be not biased. And I think I have done a pretty good job at that. But this is an album that will go down in history as a monument in music. It will be something people will paint in years to come. It is music at it's highest grade. It is art. It is life. It is THE KILERS!
