Review Summary: Phresh James is a man that likes to be high on style; no gimmicky sounds here.

At first listen one might think that Phresh James is just another rapper on the streets trying to pass out a couple of mixtapes. The problem is that you couldn't be more wrong. Not only can the guy destroy the mic, but he does it in a way that almost borderlines between funny and truthful at the same time. It's kind of like when we laugh among friends in our inner circle because we know the topic of discussion happens to be about somebody else yet we almost feel compelled to bring ourselves to a halt when the jokes go to far. The situation isn't all that different here with Phresh James. The man likes to combine a great rapping style with comical humor and in this case, it would appear as though we're dealing with the concept of love.

Now we all realize the power of love. It can drive a man crazy. It's the single factor leading to so many tragic domestic issues and yet its the energy that brings us all back to sanity at the end of the day. James and his definition of love is certainly full of desire. It becomes hard to ignore such tendencies as you find your way through the track "Wanderlust". Phresh James is a man that likes to be high on style; no gimmicky sounds here. The most interesting portion of the album seems to be its powerful focus on the instrumentation. While I'm not certain who's doing the board work here in the background, I must say that the excellent soul and concealed electronic sounds really add to the atmosphere of the album. I simply can't get enough of what Phresh James does in terms of his vivid rhyme structure though.

Day Dreams of You
More Like A Star Gazing View

(From "Song For You")

I like what Phresh James has done for us on this record as it really takes a strong and competent emcee to foster repeated listening which is exactly what I feel that James has accomplished here. Not only are we dealing with a strong album worthy of consistent replay, but a collection of songs that could certainly be great for that one special evening with your significant other.
