Review Summary: "it's best to just forget about it and let it rot wherever it is."

Let us pretend it is the year 1994. Korn had just released there debut album and the Nu-metal is starting to become a household genre. You walk into your local CD store and you sift through the bargain bin. What do you find? A band called P.O.D. What is your first impression? I'll tell you, what the f**k is wrong with the album cover. An angel cop beating up what looks live a devil. So ignoring the horrendous album cover, you take the CD home. You pop it into your CD player and what do you here? A garbled voice saying who knows what while a low tuned bass plays over it. Then all of a sudden the guitar kicks in and you're treated to one of the worst church services in your life. Yes, listening to this album is like sitting through church. Every last word on this album is nothing but Jesus worshiping and telling you how much you need him. Well isn't that just wonderful.

Putting aside the blatant Jesus worshiping, the production of this album is horrible. Some bands can actually sound pretty good with bad production, but P.O.D. just sounds like s**t. So let us move on to the songs shall we. Well I think I already mentioned the unneeded garble at the begging of Coming Back (the first song on the album). This song is flat out garbage. Sonny's voice sounds horrible, and most the lyrics in this song either have to do with Jesus or Sonny just saying YEAH! over and over. Let the Music Do the Talking is probably the best song on the album, which isn't saying much. After that I kind of gave up on this album because there is nothing redeeming about this album.

So what is there left to say about this album or the band itself. Well, P.O.D. actually got better after this album and became a pretty good band. But for there debut, it's best to just forget about it and let it rot wherever it is.

you left out the part about why you bought the album in the first place.

lol harsh, bad production is annoying sometimes but the fact that you criticized them for "Jesus worshiping" is a little biased man. If you're not down with that stuff either don't listen to it or leave it out of a review.

I never listened to this in full but the few songs I heard were pretty meh. "Satellite" and "Fundamental Elements" are both fucking sick albums though.
