Review Summary: If this is Christian Metal then I'm a Saint.
OK so this is a perfect example of Australia's finest. Mortification are "OG's" that know how to death metal. With their secong LP release in 1992, "Scrolls of the Megilloth" has some of the nastiest and gritty death metal you can find. This is a true classic. Why these guys are called Christian Death Metal[inb4 pizza] is beyond me. When you hear the death like thrashing of death dicks in tracks like "Lymphosarcoma" you can't help but think of satan throwing thunderbolt fist' at opponents. The longest existing band member since '90, Steve Rowe brings the guttural vox hard with a slamming bass hand that brings the disgust.
These guys could be singing about david and goliath for all I care, but this is str8 up death metal. If this is what they play in churches then why aren't all metalers Christians. Because this isn't fuking christian music you fags. This is satanic warlust. Yeah Steve's talking about scrolls and what not, but just because you talking elements of the bible doesn't make you a Christian band[althought pizza would like to think so, jk love you].
"Deth Requiem" contains several stand out moments of fist blasting beats and trems that never stop. The vocals always match the fury as the song keeps blending effective riff after riff. The albums flow is perfect. Their are high tempos of controlled insanity and breakdowns of fiery hell. With occasional skit voices, atmosphere is taken to knew levels.
Riff can't talk bad about this album because he doesn't know what good metal it, that's why you should check this out. Late.
