Review Summary: Techy DM that focus more on meaningful songwriting rather than WANK WANKS

Formed in 1997 from Stockholm, Sweden, Insision play a technical type of metal. They are thrown into the category of technical death metal which can sometimes deter many death fans away. I promise you these guys are technicality talented and show it, but there is no wankery shown here. They write music from the soul to express their formulaic dispositions; being that of anger and what they feel is true in their hearts. Unlike most technical bands that create music that has no purpose, Incision know how to wield the sword in an effective manner so that the music can be understood by the listener.

Now remember this is closely related to brutal death metal so if you're not used to fast and heavy music, this may not be for you. Although there is great amount of energy and speed found here, the riffs are very tasteful to the liking and there is plenty of variability to the tempos and type of riffs used; ie. Tremolo's, chugs, and arpeggio's.

If I were to focus on a track by track with album all I would be saying is riff this riff that. So I'll be more effective in this instance. The production is more of the sludgy type and is easy on the ears when played at high volumes. Obviously being of the technically exectuded instrumental style, each instrument is played with the highest merit but the ability to create good compositions is ever present. Any solo's you hear are well placed such as the one found at the end of the opening track No Belief. The riffing style of the Sweed's is ever present bringing memory to such bands as Dismember and Defaced Creation. Rather than a bunch of non-sense pounding, there are many tasteful change ups and innovative riffs like the ones found in the middle of track two, Imminent Vision. There are about 3 times as many riffs as any Death album.

For an album those focuses on meaningful songwriting yet staying true to their brutal techy beliefs check this out. Late.

not sure if it's as good as the debut though. debut sounds more brutal and garage, this is a bit more polished and my death 'n' roll radar is getting some faint beeps on the edge of the screen
