Review Summary: Asking Alexandria release perhaps the worst album within this genre - while trying to do something new.
Asking Alexandria.
One of those 'scene bands.'
Has anyone else noticed the similarities between this album title, and CoB's latest release?
Another thing that's similar.
They both suck an immense amount.
Yet Whereas Children of Bodom once used to slay only slightly less than Peter Gabriel, being the gods of Melodic Death Metal.
Asking Alexandria always were awful.
Even with a taste as bad and deluded as progmasters, it is still incredibly hard to find yourself liking this so we're gonna have to ask the million dollar question.
Why would they make *** like this? Clearly they dont like the music they make, as we have established that is near impossible for people over the age of like 15.
But guys you don't need to worry I have the answer, and a damn good answer it is.
They want the pussy.
Yet, the only bitches theyre gonna get are scene chicks who are like under age so who wants scene chicks and who wants to go to jail?
Asking Alexandria do.
Now, onto their music, the people that call this metal infuriate me more than when Valerius tries so hard to not be fade but we know inveitably its just gonna happen. It infuriates me more when people say metallica thrash and the metal will live on with them, when we all know its gonna live on with like megadeth and slayer the true bands of the big4.
they include constant synths that they use to try and appeal to the electronica crowd, and even some of them are swayed some liking them 'just because they're hot.' So I mean once again that brings us back to that big question.
the guitar work is ***ing horrendous, even on the excruciatingly low quality of a
3-track casette the 'melodies' and 'riffs' are just like 578578578. to those that dont play guitar, this means that its exactly the same as every other ***ing bad post-hardcore band.
cos these guys aren't metal core or metal or screamo.
like when you ask a pregnant 13 year old what they like and they say screamo and metal and start saying escape the fate i feel like saying the famous quote 'dude have you even heard sabbath?' and punching the baby and run but thats illegal and hey im not asking alexandria.
as for the drums god they suck. do you guys remember the drumming on lou reed and metallicas infamous release lulu? the one asotamaki likes along with thinking his part of the sputnik elite when everyone hates him?
well imagine lars inadequate drumming, and times the speed by 4.5. so there you have it, the drumming hear is 4.5 times worse than metallicas. although the dude commonly breaks down into breakdowns breakdowns ***ing suck so it really doesn't add to the attempted atmosphere of the m/.
with the real metal.
sabbath
priest
slayer
kate bush
you can feel it run through you, you can smell it, see it, touch it.
with this its like a gas. a raging violent gas that escapes through the grasp of your fingers each time you try to take hold of it. when asking alexandria induce those god-awful synth only tracks, its like as if the trance makers on newgrounds started becoming obnoxious and smelling their own farts. adding the screams in these tracks are incredibly unnecessary. this non metal band tries to add screams into these tracks to create a fusion, to be experimental. but its really not inovative at all, like heaps of other similar bands have tried that for themselves.
with decreasing critical acclaim.
now why this album has an average ratin of 2.1 just escapes me, yet i am sure we have more than 17 scene girls as described earlier roaming sputnik.
so by this review i want everybody to know, especially the scene chicks.
Metal will never die,
Asking Alexandria will, music as simple and recurrent as this will meet it's untimely end very briefly.
But Metal won't.
Real metal lives on.
