Review Summary: An addicting drug you won't be getting any help to beat...

There is a fine line between those albums that are remembered and those that SHOULD be remembered for just existing. L.D. 50 is one of those albums you'll hear for the first time, and unless you're looking for something to hate on, and psychologically hate it instantly, you'll love it. The metal is alive, and it never dies.

As far as Mudvayne goes, this is the only album that really requires listening to all the way through. The sonic interludes throughout that space out the nu-metal classics provide some well deserved breaks after some pretty heavy riffage. The best songs here show the best music as well as the best lyrics. "Internal Primates Forever" is the song that got me hooked on this album. The lyrics are professional, and the music is wicked heavy and ***ing awesome. "Nothing to Gein" is one of the best songs on this album. "Everything and Nothing" has awesome lyrics. "Prod" has everything, and is pretty long, so the excitement lasts pretty long. "Pharmaecopeia" is another one of those songs you can’t help but love. This song has its heavy elements; the lyrics are emotional and pertain to some pretty heavy stuff. It's also long. But the true metal prodigy for this release is "(K)now F(orever)" which is the single best song on this album. It just doesn’t get any better than this. The music is as if an orchestra from God's of metal decided to come down from the asylum/heaven and entertain the people. Absolutely ***ing amazing.

The whole album is terrific. Probably my favorte *nu metal* album, although I like Mudvayne discography a lot, with the exception of that crappy last album.
