Review Summary: This album is simply....HEAVENLY!!
It's interesting to note that Storm The Gates Of Hell is the greatest Metal album ever recorded. Who says? Me, Demon Hunter and Jesus, that's who. Now, let me explain why. One reason would be "Incision" because the Melody hits like a bulldog to the pelvis. Also, because of "Thread Of Light", which is heavy, and the drums render thy blaspheming heart flaccid and weak. I just love Ryan Clark, I love the way he plays with voice sound. As the frontman, I automatically recognise him as responsible for every aspect of this bands sound. He's bald.
Righteous too, is "Sixteen" and it's unstoppable impact on the ear senses, pummeling like the hammer to the nails of a crucifix, but in a way that acknowledges positively the redemption that pummeling provided us all. I would be blessed to find any ballad that could match "Thorns" for emotional power, and the solo on "The Wrath Of God" makes me realize that there IS a god. I tell no lies when I say that Demon Hunter delivers a healthy heaping of spiritual brutality in the church-potluck of my heart.
I just can't wait for their next album, "The Protestants are Wrong"
