Album Description
Fort Minor, the side project and solo debut for Mike Shinoda of multiplatinum, Grammy-winning Linkin Park, returns the emcee to his roots-making hip-hop. The Rising Tied, produced by Shinoda, who wrote every track and played nearly every instrument was executive produced by Jay-Z. Featuring guest appearances from Common, the Roots Black Thought, John Legend, Linkin Park DJ Joe Hahn, alt-funk rocker Kenna and two acts signed to Linkin Park's Machine Shop Recordings, Style of Beyond and Holly Brook, The Rising Tied raises the standard for unique, unadulterated hip-hop. ~amazon.com
1.
Intro: Awesome, very loud, noisy and almost so distorted you cannot hear it. it build up to when Jay-z comes in and says that it has big sound 10/10
~~First Single~~2.
Remember the Name(feat. Styles of Beyond): Pokes fun at the usual "I am the BEST RAPPER" syndrome that most rappers have. The beat sounds like it has some violins in it but who knows with hip-hop beats? This is the first single but i think there are other songs which should had been a single 8.5/10
**MUST DOWNLOAD**3.
Right Now(feat. S.O.B. and Black Thought of the Roots): I also think it is the best, because of the piano, and the lyrics are truly inspirational and makes me stop and think about life. 10/10
~~Second Single~~4.
Petrified: Lyrics are not the best, chorus is repeated too much. This song shows how good Mike can make the beats. I really like this song and it's probably because this would be played in clubs more then RTN. One odd thing about this song though, i head it on Fox's football coverage...i always thought Fox had bad music taste 8.5/10
5.
Feel Like Home(feat.S.O.B.): I think this is talking about how life treats people and what Mike and SOB thinks about death. This is just a nudge over being filler though 7.5/10
*MUST DOWNLOAD*
6. Where'd You Go(feat. Holly Brook and Jonah Matranga): Awesome, this is talking about how touring can hurt family and how the family misses the touree, 9/10
**MUST DOWNLOAD**7.
In Stereo: This song has the hardest beat I've heard on a rap song in a while. The song talks about Mike bringing the newest ish out to the car and letting the whole block hear it. 10/10
8.
Back Home(feat. Common(Sense)and S.O.B.): Beat is good, but, lyrics are decent, did SOB have to be on this song though? Common was a good guest on this track. Filler 6.5/10
**Must Download**9.
Cigarettes: This song is talking about how the cigs are rap. This track is one of those songs you would expect Tupac to do if we was still alive and dropping those lyrics. 9.5/10
10.
Believe Me(feat. Bobo and S.O.B.):It sends out the message right to you. I really don't feel the track but i like the message: put it right back in that jerks face. 8/10
11.
Get me gone: It's mike talking about how the company person was trying to get Mike to stop rapping on LP's cds. At the end he was saying that the person wanted Hann to wear a lab coat and a cowboy hat. I like the spoken part but that's it. Filler 7/10
12.
High Road(feat. John Legend): You trust someone, and either they betray that trust, or they just start treating you like your trash, and this is the song you would play for them. Mike doesn't really seem to be taking the high road does he? 7.5/10

Kenji: This song is about Mike's Grandpa/grandma or uncle/aunt i forgot which one. It talks about what they went through in WWII. I love the spoken-word aspect of the song.
#note# In the booklet by this song Mike puts, "I used the word "Jap" in the song KENJI for historical Accuracy. As we all know, this word is not acceptable today. Do not mistake its presence here for an indicator that i think it is cool. It is not."
8.5/10
**MUST DOWNLOAD**14.
Red to Black(feat. Kenna, Jonah Matranga, and S.O.B.):The clock ticking a the beginning is awesome. I love the lyrics, I love the message. I have had(I still have) friends like this. I like the beat on this song. 9/10
15.
The Battle(feat. Celph Titled): 32 second of Celph Titled free versing it. He jokes on Iraq war.. 10/10
**MUST DOWNLOAD**16.
Slip out the Back(feat. Mr. Hahn): This is another one of those songs you would hear Tupac rap if he was still alive. Great message here and great beat. I can also level with the lyrics. 10/10
I let my friend listen to this during class one day and he said it was better then he expected it to be. I for one love this CD. Some time i skip songs when i want to hear just a certain song, but who doesn't? This Cd gets a 4.5. -.5 For the filler tracks. There are some hints of Linkin Park on this Cd but they don't last long
*Pros
~Nice change from the Hip-Hop on the Radio
~good lyrics throughout the whole cd
~i love the beats
*cons*
~Linkin Park moments
~Most Hip-Hop fans wont get to hear this album
