Review Summary: This album changed my life, and it should change yours, too.

This album changed my life. Never had I heard any Indie that was this excellent or consistent. I thought Indie was all bands like Vampire Weekend and Wolf Parade until I heard Icky Mettle. Right from the get-go, "Web In Front" summed up Indie in only 2 minutes, no less and no more than that. Starting with five hits on the snare drum, Eric Bachmann describes a relationship gone bad, or a friend who betrayed him. "You're not the one who let me down, but thanks for offering", he sings melodically over a pounding back-beat. This lyric is the highlight of this song, seeing as you can easily relate to that line. The entire song is a course in melody and poetic lyrics. "Web In Front" should be studied by Literature classes in high school and college/university. I keep playing Web In Front over and over because of the length. Moving on to highlights such as "Plumb Line", Eric Bachmann also weaves his tender voice over intricate guitar melodies. This album is absolutely influential, beautiful, and groundbreaking, and you should buy this, no doubt.

It probably beats out Gold Soundz and Since I left you as the catchiest song ever made.
