Review Summary: monothiest is certainly one of the darkest and heaviest album ever period..........
"THIS IS MY FIRST REVIEW SO CRITICISM IS ALWAYS WELCOME"
The Beast has risen once again........ and is ready to engulf you in its darkness.........to be short and sweet it is one of the most heaviest record till date.
The album Starts out with "Progeny",a great song to introduce you to the new "thick doom-gothic black metal" celtic frost has invented.
The second song "Ground" has a heavy riff that will rip your eardrums, and has very dark atmosphere. The lyrics are very bleak and devoid of any light.
Then comes the third and the only single from the album "A Dying God Coming Into Human Flesh".The song is very atmospheric and is has a spine chilling riff. It is interesting to note that this is the most doom metal inspired track from CF.The song ends on a heavy note where Warrior wails repeatedly"I AM A DYING GOD COMING INTO HUMAN FLESH"...one of the best tracks from the album.
The fourth track is "Drown In Ashes". This is the most goth inspired track from the album. The song is not at all heavy and is based on the music samples and not much on guitar.A good track indeed.
The fifth track "Os Abyssmi Vel Daath" is the best track from the album in my opinion. It creates one of the most scariest atmospheres ive heard in a song ..especially the sampling that starts at 3:43. IT WILL FREEZE YOUR BALLS.
The album flounders a bit halfway with average songs ..."Temple Of Depression","Obscured" and "Domain Of Decay" are good songs but average in comparision to others. So nothing special.
The next track"Ain Elohim" is the most thrash oriented song from the album. It has a crunchy riff, but the best part comes at the end with a creepy guitar solo by Warrior.
The next track "Tottengot",the first song of the Triptych, start with the creepiest intro ive heard and contains the most sickest vocals ive heard in a song. Try to listen this song alone in the dark and i guarantee you will pee in you pants.
The next song "Synagoga Satanae", is the longest , and the highlight of the album. The song is pretty creepy and almost suffocating. The pace changes midway and Warrior screams "Rise Synagoga Satanae", and after approximately 2 minutes Martin Eric sings about some curse in herbrew language which makes it even more creepy. This song ,in my opinion is the best metal track of the decade.
The album culminates with "Winter". Nothing special But good nonetheless.
PROS
