Review Summary: The most underrated record ever?

Megadeth rules.

This 1985 shredfest of destruction entitled Killing is my Business...and Business is Good! is probably the coolest album ever. Dave Mustaine's anger is fresh and feisty, much like his furious riffs, which are also fresh. Chris Poland plays like a demon from hell shot out of Satan's womb, and then he did some angel dust and picked up a guitar and joined Megadeth. And even on the debut, David Ellefson is playing like a thrashified Geddy Lee hyped up on crack and reading scales from the Necronomicon from Evil Dead II. And Gar Samuelson is the drummer.

The main song I want to talk about is the title track, which is a song so insanely thrashalicious that it makes my eardrums tingle with the sweet sounds of awesome. Its riff is so thrash that it transcends its own thrashiness and has a bit of a twang to it; almost as if this were Megadeth's attempt at a funky dance tune. If the top 40 wasn't lame, the song certainly could have been a number one hit and played in discos all across the world, even if it was 1985. The song is about killing, presumably the members of fellow (well, anti-fellow) thrashers Metallica, for reasons we all know.

In fact, there's a Metallica song here. Mechanix, which is Dave's song in the first place, and he took it and gave it the Megadeth sound that he has trademarked with pure power. It's the same as Metallica's Four Horsemen, but the pissed off power fest of Mustaine and company really shows how awesome they is.

And don't even get me started on These Boots. One example of a cover of an awesome song surpassing the awesome original.

Overall, Megadeth's debut is great for working out, or not. Buy this.
