Review Summary: Overall the EP was awesomely done. And I can't wait for their new album "Deceiver".
Although their live performances don't really have much to do with the review, they are intense live haha. Hope to see great things from these guys.
To start off, this album was really well done in my opinion. From the heart-stopping screams and baby-calming singing from Telle Smith, to the shredding guitars from Zack Hanson and Tony Pizzuti all the way to Nick Urlacher and his booming bass and former drummer Tony Aguilera's blasting beats, along with Dusty Riach's technical keys. Instead of going through all the songs I will review the ones that stick out in my mind.
First the album starts off with Battle Royale, one of the best songs on the EP. The opening guitars and cymbals keep you listening to hear the rest, then Telle brings the noise with his loud "BREATHE!!". Then the song goes directly to Telle's clean vocals in a nice melody with fast paced music in the background. The songs chorus is where the bands talent show, because this chorus is one of their best.....in my opinion. Along with this song we have Zack Hanson's intense solo leading to a little solo by Dusty. Then the song breaks down into an intense breakdown and finishes off with the chorus. This song definitely is one of their that will stay in your head for awhile.
Another one that stands out is Casanova Rodeo. If you are a fan of this song from when Craig Mabbitt was the singer then the new version might disappoint you, but in my opinion Telle really tops Craig's vocals on this one. But it starts off with a cool guitar riff thing. Then goes straight into intense screaming and guitar, then to probably the most catchy tune from these guys..."cause this is the day your life is gonna change......cause your heading south for the border, this is the sign of the murder...Cause you're armed with hate and a handgun". Like how can that not stick in your head :) other than that, the guitar is superb throughout the entire song, along with drums, bass, keys.
But the absolute best song on this EP is How To Build An Empire. It starts off with a great guitar and drum opening leading to Telle's singing. The chorus can make you happy if your down because of Telle's voice and Dusty's keys the most. The solo for this song is a bit slow for me but I still LOVE it. Overall in my opinion this song is very technical, and very soothing.
I recomend checking this song out.
