Review Summary: Best British Album of all time.
The album doesn't need much explanation because of its high sales. But review doesn't count much on commercial success, does it?
The album is undoubtedly the finest album of Oasis till date. It has really great songs that say to you "listen to me again!". The album has all the songs written by Noel Gallagher. Liam has put up his right attitude in this album as he always does. Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan and Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs are there with their great guitar talents. The only replacement is Alan White instead of original member of Oasis, Tony McCarroll. Here is the review of songs:-
The album starts with "Hello" which has such energetic vocals form Liam Gallagher that anyone who will listen to it, will be thunderstruck.
Then the album's famous single (even before the release) "Roll With It" is there just in time to ensure that Oasis fans are still rolling! We already know the story behind the release of this single linking to "Country House" of Blur. Well let's not go that far.
Then the album's most famous song "Wonderwall" is next in list. It has some of the most meaningful verses and paras and it's undoubtedly one of the finest songs that Oasis ever released. The single went #1 on Billboard Charts and #2 on UK charts.
Then there is something for surprise........"Don't Look Back In Anger"! This was Noel's first song in lead vocals. It's great! It went straight #1 on UK charts and stayed there for 1 week.
The next song "Hey Now!" has great combination of vocals and instrumentals. Only if the song was one minute short of its actual length, the song would have been more promising.
After so much vocals, Noel thought why not put a nice instrumental riff "Swap Song 1". It is just about 0:44 long, so you won't miss vocals for much long.
Next in the list is Oasis' first UK #1 single "Some Might Say". The instrumentals are great, lines are great and of course Liam's voice is rocking!
Well, when the album was going too "Rock 'N' Roll", the song "Cast No Shadow" comes up. The song is such perfectly crafted that it should have been a single. Really, Noel is a fantastic song writer!
"She's Electric" is the weakest song in this album. Styled with Brit instrumentals of late 60s, the song isn't very impressive but all in all it's at least an average.
The song "Morning Glory" which is the title song of the album is there for you. Some say it is about drugs, some say it is about laziness, but whatever it is about, it really is one of the best songs of Oasis. The video is very popular of course. The song has same effect as "Supersonic" from the previous album.
Then another instrumental riff "Swamp Song 2" comes up , thus making the listener impatient for a while. Don't worry, it's only of 40 seconds.
Then another song who went straight #1 on Billboard charts "Champagne Supernova" is there acting as an ending song of the album. The music can't get finer than this pals.
'(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' can be said as a 'must listen' to all the music listeners. Perfection dude perfection...........
