Review Summary: An unexpected surprise. Brilliant songs, a unique sound, and variety in songs. I love it!
I wasn't sure what to expect because I bought this CD based on MySpace. Amazing!! Wow. It sounds so pro, the melodies are great, cool songs & lyrics, and every song is different from the next. I can't place this band or CD in any specific genre. It's just so eclectic & hooks you in. I really look forward to another CD from Domenica, this is one of my faves from the whole year!
My favorite songs are 'What Goes Around' and 'The Long Road'...which are basically polar opposites in terms of sound.
'What Goes Around' is fast, aggressive, guitar heavy, loud, and straightforward from beginning to end. The long road is slow, almost ambient, moody, sombre, and seems to have some electronica bits mixed in with a middle eastern style melody. Very dark and cool.
The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star classic rating was because this is my first review. This CD will probably be spinning in my apartment for years to come though. Highly recommended.
