Review Summary: Michael Jackson's last full length studio album is quite good, but failed to be the comeback album it was intended to be.

I will rate each track individually. I will use the same rating as on the site so for example a 3,5 is a "great".

Unbreakable: The albums opener this song has a great rhythm, vocals and lyrics so it has the whole package. it also has a rap in it, done by the Notorious B.I.G. which is pretty good. the only downside might be its long length of 6.25 4,5/5

Heartbreaker: This song also has a rap part in it (performed by Fats). This is my most favorite song on this album it has an awesome rhythm, great lyrics and vocals. It also has the perfect length in my opinion. Its a bit similar to Unbreakable 5/5

Invincible: This song is a bit similar to Unbreakable and Heartbreaker it also has a rap part (performed by Fats) in it and a great rhythm. Once again the vocals are great. The lyrics are also quite good but it has 1 weakness: Michael repeats the chorus many times in the end what sometimes get a bit annoying. 4/5

Break of Dawn: The first slow song of the album. His voice sounds great, the rhythm is slow but good. i only find the lyrics a bit strange he sings about he wants to make love. Although i don't really like slow songs i did like this 1. 3,5/5

Heaven can Wait: This is also a slow song. It has great vocals, good lyrics and a nice rhythm (it has an R&B vibe). He sings about he don't want to go to heaven because he don't want to leave his child. This is 1 of my favorite ballads on the album. 4/5

You Rock my World: this song reminds me of his earlier work its a good R&B song with good vocals, decent lyrics and pretty good rhythm. Its only pity they putted the version with the annoying intro on the album while watching the clip, its nice but without you won't know where Chris Tucker is talking/brabbling about. The reason why i found the lyrics just 'decent' is because he repeats the chorus to much especially at the end(4x) 3,5/5

Butterflies: 1 of the 2 songs Michael didn't write. This song has good vocals and decent lyrics the beat is also ok. But it just doesn't really stand out thats why i rate it 3/5

Speechless: This song is beautiful and emotional only Michael Jackson sings in this 1 he also wrote it himself. His vocals and lyrics are awesome. I can't say much about the rhythm because its mostly only Michael singing. 3,5/5

2000 Watts: His voice in this song is very different (low), but because it really sounds great and it fits perfectly in the song, i think it worked out. The beat in this song is quite heavy what makes it a song you love or hate. It’s only a shame the lyrics aren't very interesting the song is about modern stuff like 3D. 4/5

You are my Life: Another beautiful slow song his voice sounds very good. The lyrics are good, they are about a girl he met who gave him love and helped him out of his deep depression. He repeats the chorus only 2 times because there's no need to repeat them more the couplets are good enough to stand on their own.4/5

Privacy: In this song Michael sounds a lot different again, but this time it doesn't work out. His angry voice sounds just to strange. The beat is a bit heavy it has a nice guitar sound. The lyrics are about he wanted to be left alone by the paparazzi(i definitely agree with that). 2,5/5

Don't Walk Away: another (but quite good) slow song. Its about Michaels wife wants to leave him he asks her what he have to do to make her stay. His vocals are good as always, the beat in the background fits the song nicely. 3,5/5

Cry: Another slow song, this 1 is about he can't change the world alone and he needs help to do so. His voice sounds great, there's only a small background beat his voice is the most important in the song(luckily). 3,5/5

The Lost Children: a slow song once again, but this time it isn't so good he arranged a children choir for this song thats not necessarily a bad thing, but you'll also hear kids playing in the background what gets quite annoying. The lyrics are about praying for all the Lost Children, apart from that there isn't much more to hear. The only good thing is that the vocals are good also when the children start singing. 2/5

Whatever Happens: This song is also slow, but much better than The lost Children. His voice sounds great, a bit different from the rest ,but not as different as in 2000 watts or privacy. The lyrics are good and the beat is to, it sounds a bit 'country' . 3,5/5

Threatened: This song is a lot like thriller but very well modernized in fact i prefer this 1 a bit over thriller. You will also hear a voice (Rod Serling) at the start, middle and end of the song this. The reason why i like threatened over thriller is because the beat sounds heavier and. 3,5/5

My conclusion: This album has some very great songs like heartbreaker, unbreakable and heaven can wait, but it contains to many slow songs especially the second halve of the album. It’s also a bit too long and loses some steam at the second halve ,i agree he could have left of some songs (The lost children and privacy). With that said i must say i enjoyed (and still do) this album a lot. Its definitely good!

This album has some great material but too much filler. A shame it didn't get promoted properly....

As a comeback Invincible is a failure, but that does not mean it doesn't have some enjoyable songs....

MJ's final record prior to his death is a good, but overlong, effort. Unfortunate that it never got ...

This is not a very good review, but I never neg first ones. What you want to do is giving an overall overview of the album instead of describing each song individually. Track-by-track reviews are often very tiring to read, and if you re-read your own work, you'll see that you repeat yourself like this. Also just wondering: where are you from? It seems to me English is not your first language.

If you need more pointers, I'll be happy to give them.

Sorry man I have to agree with Nagrarok. Track by tracks are frowned upon around here, plus the grammar in this as a whole its pretty awful. For example when you type the title of a song you should capitalize the first letter of each (ex. Good: Break Of Dawn, Bad: Break of dawn). Not to mention some of your sentences are in desperate need of commas.

For example:

"His voice sounds great a bit different from the rest but not as different as in 2000 watts or privacy."

Should read as:

"His voice sounds great, a bit different from the rest, but not as different as in 2000 Watts of Privacy."

In the future if or when you write another review, just use some well structured paragraphs and actually (in lack of a better word) 'explain' the album to us, not describe the goods and bads of each individual song. Hope it helps, and don't be afraid to ask for tips or more pointers.

You Rock My World is definitely a highlight on this album, that and "Speechless" are easily the two best. This album had so much potential, but its the chorus that repeat 10 fucking times in these songs that ruin it. Plus all the shitty effects used (i.e. "2000 Watts" and "Privacy")

That's what I thought. I'm from Holland myself, and I recognized the typical mistakes we always make in English, not to mention that the username gave you away.

Wel fijn om wat meer Nederlanders hier te zien trouwens.

This album isnt as bad as the critics made it out to be. I man, fro track 1 up until and including speechless, I think its 4/5. After that its like 2/5. The first half is awesome though. If only he had just released that as the album instead of tacking on crappy songs.
