Review Summary: An ugly mass of destruction.

From the esoteric chimes of the opening chords you wouldn't be surprised that you were about to experience something on the darker side. Now less than a few seconds into "Demoralizer" you'd think you were listening to the cyclone of hell itself. The brutal slash of power chords carry over on "Hour of Rats" where the thunderstorm of drumming falls even more franticly. The squeaky guitar sequences cleverly placed throughout the songs allow the more straightforward guitar slashing to retain its interest. For the most part this album is pretty much a 'blast you in the ***ing face' affair but the album doesn't lack variety. "Embarrassment Legacy" holds a slick climbing guitar piece paired with shotgun style bass work. The drumming throughout never lets up for a second. The chaos behind the kit is either pounding into denser and darker territory or otherwise keeping a steady snap of fuel to allow the other instruments to take over. "One Robot to Another" is where the monstrous vocals take hight. Ranging from the powerful bark to the gutter death growls they are a force unto themselves. "Mouthful of Precious Stones" is about as straightforward as it gets and it the most brutal way imaginable. Basic chug chug power chords have never been so well utilized.

If lightning speed drumming and blood curdling guitar slashing aren't your fancy than Fed Through the Teeth Machine is not for you. "Hymns and Crippled Anthems" allow for belligerent trade offs between the three basic instruments of destruction. "Dead Prevailed" fuels the haunting episode with a dark atmosphere and the barking of a distraught monster. Even when The Red Chord decides to slow things down such as on "Sleepless Nights In The Compound" their sheer grotesqueness shakes the earth with mammoth force. The gorgeous guitar interlude on "Sleepless Nights" brings the thrashing beast slowly but surly to a close.

The chaotic storm of noise that is Fed Through the Teeth Machine is a pleasant slice of disaster. While never technically overpowering the album executes many other skills far to well to be faulted. Also given the fact that the band only employ one guitarist these flailing guitar skills are truly put to the test. Rather it be the nonstop crunching of guitar chords blasting their way through your skull or the thunderbolt assault of drum fills this album is brutal to the max. The chunky bass and pitch perfect roars only add a frantic spark to the mix and while some could point out that the straightforwardness of the album is a negativity I feel that it only adds on to the monster that is Fed Through the Teeth Machine

Cower, scream, stand up for what you've done.
Let it ride, take a trip, watch it shatter.
Splinter the thickest of hearts and heads.
Scream, cower, hide from the shards of the hour of rats.

Hmm, didn't see your posts, man. It's brief but effective - lovely use of figurative language.

I was listening to the album the whole time I was reviewing it and this was a different style of review, I was trying to be quick and effective but illustrative, I'm stoked you like it jewel

this review is a fine length and gets right to the point, as well as sums up every aspect of the listen as a whole. imo, aside from some grammar issues doesnt need 'beefing up' at all!

I'm not sure where this album sits for me. I rated it 4 meaninglessly it seems.

It is impossible for a reviewer to not give this a 4.5. Anyway I should pick this up.

Not a huge deathcore/grind fan, but this is by far my favorite album in the genre.

"While never technically stunning," you seem to contradict yourself with this statement here, as you said throughout the review how pummeling the drums were or the power chords of the guitars. You may want to rephrase this, other than that, fantastic review. Can't say I'm a big fan of this band though.

I really like this, but I think it would be better suited with only eight or so tracks.
