Release Date: 2003 | Tracklist

Remember the year 2001...I guess everybody heard their hit-sigle "How you Remind Me",they sold more than 18 million of the album all over the world, though the album itself wasn't that good, there were no such catchy songs as "How...".The year 2003...New release called "The Long Road",and another new hit-single "Someday".But though again this canadian rockers became succesful,"The Long Road"couldn't achieve success "Silver Side Up" had.And why?Just because "The Long Road"was just based on the same formula as the previous album, and it's even worse.....

I wouldn't say that this album is just a crap,no, the album has got some good tracks, but some just really suck.....

1.Flat on the floor. Not a bad start of the album, really. It has some energy, and the riffs are quite good, also i really like the drums in this song, they sound really good, and Chad's singing is also good.3,5/5

2.Do this Anymore.Starts off with some acoustic guitar, then Chad begins singing. The chorus is really good in the song. Also the solo in the middle is quite nice, nothing special,i mean technically, but very melodic.
On the whole, this is one of the best songs on the album,to my mind.4/5

3.Someday.Well,this track is just a copy of How You remind me,though it is more up-beat.Chad sings about his troubles in relations with his girlfriend, but in the chorus he sings that someday everything is gonnabe fine. This song is really catchy.Chad's singing is really great in this song, and the solo is really beautiful.4.5/5

4.Believe it or not. From now on there will be fewer good songs. This song is very similar to "Do This Anymore".It has got the same structure and the melodies of this songs are very much alike. And the lyrics are very ordinary.2/5

5.Feelin' way too damn good. This song also was a single.Very up-beat but not a great one.Chad doesn't believe that finally everything is good.I find this song a "typical" Nickelback mid-tempo song.Though everything is fine there's still nothing extraordinary.2.5/5

6.Because of you.Well, this song is not bad. It's the heaviest song on the album,it has got some really good riffs, the riff in the bridge is especially great. Also Chad's singing is really great in this song,he sings really high in the bridge.4/5

7.Figured you out. This song was another single. This song is really similar to "Feelin' way....",again it's another typical Nickelback song,
nothing special.2/5

8.Should've listened. An acoustic ballad, i understand that here Chad sings about the consequences of the party.Still nothing special, one chord progression is played during the whole song, just after every verse some other instrument begins to play.2.5/5

9.Throw yourself away.I think i've already heard something similar on the album. Some mediocre riffs,a familiar chorus. On the whole a mediocre song.2/5

10.Another hole in the head.I don't know why, but the verse of the song really annoys me.Again some mediocre song which hasn't got anything catchy.2/5

11.See you at the show.A ballad about the fans of Nickelback.Well, at least it's better than the last three tracks.More or less nice verse and chorus, and the bridge and the solo aren't that bad at all.3/5

This album isn't a great record at all, but still it has got some good points. Some songs are really catchy,Chad's singing is really good, and there's a couple of good riffs on the album. What i really disliked is the constant repetiteveness of tracks, some songs are like twin brothers.
In conclusion,i'd like to say that these guys,to my mind, can write good stuff, but it seems like they didn't work that hard on the album, because this album has got nothing new to boast with.

Justified rating IMO. Not very outstanding, and somewhat spoiled by the overplay of "How you remind me". Since then, I can not really stand Nickelback anymore.

Good review

Thank you, guys!!!I'll edit my review, and i hope then there will be fewer errors. And aboãt the mark of the album, only 4 songs have average mark, besides i've explained that there is too much of repetitive stuff on the album.
p.s. st1llb0rn i think you'd better give advice when you try to write something yourself.

Ah, Nickelback.

They need to learn new melodies.

They need to learn new everything. I have this album and cannot even listen to it, that is how bad I think it is.

I think the album is all right.....quite a few filler tracks...I really like "See You at the Show" and "Should've Listened." Other than that, I think you did a really good job rating the album.

I detest the vocals, they make me cringe.
Nirvana = successful/original grunge/punk band
Puddle of mud = wannabe nirvana poppy grunge band
following onto Nickelback = A copy of a copy.

well my user name is morbidmetal but I actually like nickelback alot. I agree that some of their songs are basicaly the same but as long as its not exactaly the same I dont care they're good. in fact some are great. Quote from Constant" I can stand it when it's goddam catchy but when they try to be heavy, it doesnt work for them." I fuckin love their heavy shit and their melodic stuff.

nickelback is good. very good live.

somewhat repetitive, but not too noticeably.

the songs that get the airplay by them arent usually their best.

and it is strange that so many people dont like them.
