I didn't wanna do 2 reviews of one band in a row but well here i am with Dir en Grey again. This is one of the early albums. i think it might be the first but i'm to lazy too go look(can't find a good site)

Dir en Grey is:
Kyo-vocals
Kaoru-guitar, leader-sama
Die-guitar
Shinya-drums
Toshiya-bass

1)kiri to mayu
Starts out with a stormy sound as kyo speaks. its a stressed tired and possibly dieing persons voice. then a door opens and the guitars kicks in. The vocals and guitar remind me of the song Raison D'etre. The guitars are semi fast with a less polished sound. kyo uses a very nice vocal tone. fits perfectly. The guitars do a clean part as kyo's voice floats to each speaker as it 2 kyos are speaking to eachother. Then the guitars kick in for another verse which leads to another part like before. This is were the solos really shined. back in these days. Kaoru pulls out a nice one before the normal guitars kicks in as kyo sings another verse. another clean part with floating kyo(hehe) comes through.kyo sings along with the guitars dramitacizing his voice for the end when he lets out a tortured animal sound as the song ends on a solo

2)S
Bass drum starts this as the high hat is quickly introuduced before one of the guitars start. as both guitars come together kyo does a sound thing before a small insturment part leading to the verse. i really like the bass. these are also the days when Toshiya really used his skills. well that you could hear them anyways. i also really like the verse guitars. the chorus is really nice. Between kyos singing and the guys guitar and bass playing its a very solid song. near the end kyo does some screaming and the insturments take it till the end.

3)ERODE
I think i misspelled this on the tracklist but ya. on with the show. a very nice bass solo starts us out before shinya builds in and the guitars follow soon after. the solo riff at the end of the verses adds really nicely. kyo uses that smooth voice again. man i love his voice. lots of solo like riffs and bass solos in this song. in the middle a real guitar solo comes through and rounds us out before a small insturment part and another solo. this one is better it leads right into another verse from kyo. the verses continue and a solo like guitar part takes us to the end

4)Aoi tsuki
A drum part leads us into a snake like hiss from kyo as the guitars suddenly come in. Very nice bass in this song as well. kyo uses fast in one speaker and regular in the other during one part. he uses his dramatic voice to really carry a mood with the song. once in a while harsh kyo will come out and sing along with regular kyo. his voice seems to have effects processed into it but i think its a natural way he can sing. he has a very multi-faceted voice.Kyo carries us out with "la la la" as children join in before its just kyo and it slows until the song ends.

5)GARDEN
Immediatly in catchy guitars and drums greet you. Kyo uses that nice voice again. The guitars continue to be catchy with the distortion in the backrounds and one of them doing a clean riff/solo during the verse. There is a slow soloistic part while kyo sings another verse before those catchy guitars come in with kyo right alongside them. The riffs are much more like mini solos in this album. A little more in another solo carries us into what you think is the end. but nope. an intersting sounding riff greets you as the bass starts(very nice riff i might add) as a guitar can be heard doing thoses soloistic riffs before kyo burst in with more song for us all. very catchy chorus in this song. The bass is really nice in this entire album cause well. YOU CAN HEAR IT.lol

6)BYO [] SHIN
Crash cymbal greets you before those nice catchy gutars start up. Kaoru does a very nice part in the backround before everything speeds up when kyo scresms abit. then a short almost breakdown part as it speeds up again as kyo starts singing. Some screams in the backround add nicely to the quick sharp verses. In themiddle kyo uses that dramatic voice before the band breaks in with singing as kyo uses his voice a bit louder. this goes on for a while before a mini-solo and a nice guitar part. light distortion really is a good thing. Then kaoru takes her away again with that awesome solo style. This leads into the verse again. near the end Kyo does that soundmaking thing he does as the guitars continue until a door closes. The door of MISSA has been opened and closed all in less then a half-hour

This was a very good album. More tschnical skill is used and its less polished than the newer ones.

4 out of 5(yes another 4)

The only song I've heard off of this one is Aoi Tsuki, and if the CD is as good as you say it is, I think I'll love it.

Garden still hasn't grown off me. I'm probably in the minority, though it's definitely one of my favorite pre-Vulgar tracks.

Okay, Osakajou Hall performance of Garden>>>>>original EP version. Diru made the song 5 minutes longer and more evocative there. That said, still can't bring myself to dislike the studio rendition in spite of how aged-sounding it is. Must be the nostalgia kicking me.
