No one has really heard of 'Team Sleep', even though this is Chino Moreno's side project from 'Deftones'. I first heard about the album from a friend and he had heard highly of it, and after i got my next pay check i went out and bought it. I didn't really know what to expect because i hadn't heard anything about it except that it was supposed to be good.
I put it on and the first time i listened to it only one stuck out in my mind as having something really captivating, that song was 'Blvd. Nights'. But after listening to this album through a few more times I have realised that just about every song on the Cd has some sort of attention keeping aspect, whether it be the lyrics, or the lead footed drum lines, or Chino's mysterious voice. The only song on the album i skip every now and then is 'King Diamond', this song has more of a hip hop sort of feel to it than the rest of the album.
The single 'Ever (foreign language)' didn't do anything for me at first, but like the album it took a while to get into, and now i can't stop listening to it.
Overall I think Chino did an excellent job of capturing a defferent and fresh sound to the thrashy yet melodic and peaceful 'Defontes' Cd's. Anyone who likes Chino Moreno's voice but finds it too hard to listen to over the heavy guitarist's of 'Defontes' this is the album for you.
Favourite Songs:
1. Blvd. Nights
2. Your Skull Is Red
3. Ever (forgien language)
4. Our Ride To The Rectory
6. Ataraxia
