Review Summary: Nothing says Christmas quite like murder and breakdowns.
As the air gets colder and the snow starts to fall everyone is reminded of the holiday season. This holiday spirit infects us all, and that is no different for the boys in Killwhitneydead. If you are familiar with Killwhitneydead then you know their style is to sample movies and T.V. shows while letting loose a fury of generic metal behind the samples.
Although this style can be entertaining, and especially so on Christmas, it gets old FAST. Don't get me wrong, the first few listen-throughs are entertaining at the very least. While trying to deduce what movies or T.V. shows the samples are coming from, you get pulled into the songs. Samples from T.V shows such as South Park, Family Guy, and the simpsons, and Movies such as Elf, Christmas Vacation, Jack Frost (the horror movie), Bad Santa, and Fred Clause among others keeps you entertained the whole way through.
However, this entertainment looses its novelty fast, and the background music is very generic. This works for listeners who are fans of heavy music however. It's pretty hard to find diversity in a style like Killwhitneydead's but, if you like heavy music, you can listen to this EP a few times before it gets old.
The Bottom Line:
The "Stocking Stuffher EP" (Clever) is worth a few laughs and is definitely one of the most metal, brootal, hardcore, intense, heavy, (However you wish to say it) ways to celebrate the holidays .
