I personally do not like good charlotte but a bunch of my friends were sayin that I have to listen to their first cd before they sold out with young and the hopeless. This is a completely unbiased view after listening to the cd with an open mind a few times.

The Little Things(4/5)—This song is in a few movies like Dude wheres my car. Good album opener with simple but catchy beats. I think this was the first single ever from them. Very cool song but nothing spectacular about it.

Waldorf Worldwide(5/5)—wicked cool song the ska-ish guitar intro is pretty sick. Catchy white-men rapping in verses and a simple but effective and catchy chorus.

Motivation Proclamation(4.5/5)—A ballad type song. The only reason it doesn’t get a five is the high pitched “me” at the end where singer repeats motivate me. It kinda gets annoying. Loud ending with a thrashy feel before the fadeout.

East Coast Anthem(5/5)—Simple Ramones style punk song. Simple guitar and drums but straight out rockin sound. Probably the best on the cd.

Festival Song(4/5)—Song about defying authority and conformity of everyday life. GC shows how influences affect their songs as the “Your futures no future” is very similar to the Sex Pistols chant “No future for you” from god save the queen. A good intro hook is the high point of this song.

Complicated(2/5)—Nothing special. Kind of a white rap song. But they really cant rap. The good bridge is the only thing that saves this song.

Seasons(3.5)—Well written lyrics with a summer sounding song. Acoustic guitar reminiscent of I Remember you by Skid Row. Again a good song but nothing special about it.

I Don’t Wanna Stop(1/5)—Low point of the album. The guitar and drums sound exactly like many other songs including the chorus of Longview from Green Day. Not a well written song either as lyrics get old quick.

I Heard You(4/5)—Fastest song on the album. Good punk song but kinda stupid lyrics when you hear the whole song. It basically is a day from high school and that they are losers which is a recurring theme in this album.

The Click(4/5)—Good intro hook good verses but kinda boring chorus. The bridge doesn’t exactly make it a good song either but the lyrics make it a good song about teenage frusturation and acceptance.

Walk By(5/5)—The intro harmonic thing on the guitar(the bloop bloop bloop thing) is pretty much stolen from the clash(listen to the intro of should I stay or should I go). But it is a good song. The best lyrical moment on the album---“Egos fly and she walks by She caught my eye on October ninth Was twenty two days before Halloween How did I know she’d be my evil queen.” Chorus is very simple but catchy.

Let Me Go(2.5/5)—Cool bass intro even though its very simple but not a great song. The chorus seems forced as if they wrote the music to different lyrics then tried to put them together.

Screamer(4.5/5)—Very cool acoustic song. The high pitched guitar is unbelievably catchy. Lyrics don’t really make sense but it is a great song.

Change(5/5)—This is an excellent closer. The first time anyone listens to this song they immediately relate to it. It is kind of an emo ballad song but the excellent writing and singing make up for it.

Conclusion----What happened to them after they wrote this album? Did they want to see how much *** they can write and get away with? This is a pretty good cd and for a debut, it is very good. Whatever happened to this style no one knows. Lets just hope they will remember how good this one is before they write any more crap.

More detail, this needs. You didn't really describe the song much. Vague descriptions and not much info.

It is kind of an emo ballad song but the excellent writing and singing make up for it.

This album and the following one aren't musically brilliant in my opinion. While every album has it's moments I found this one to not have any at all.

This should go in pop-punk.

Can't really judge this album because I have not heard it, but their other albums suck and would guess that this is not so good.

God, f.ucking stop asking that question^!

Because reviews and albums need criticism or otherwise it becomes a fanboy-fest! This is a site to talk about various opinions on different music, not just to discuss how amazingly awesome your favorite band is.
