Well this is my first review, so bare with me, treat me softly.
I first got this record a couple of years back when I was into ***ty mainstream music, I recieved it off my cousin who was alot older and wiser than me at the time. I thought it was great, the guitar riffs are so heavy and lush. . . yes I said lush.
Anyway down to the the single track rating..
I Hope You Die - The album kicks off with some hardcore guitar riffs, then comes the super fast signature drum fills, this song is amazing, probably the best on the whole album?? I hope this helps to clarify...why I give this song 4.5/5
The Inevitable Return..- Starts off with just a drum beat, an then the catchy tune begins, from a rock song to more of a rap one.. still, sounds respectable and is pretty neat, lots of mixing and scratching in this too, if you like that sort of thing.. 3/5
Mama's Boy - Just a phone call, 34 seconds long.
Three Point Four - One of the more well known Bloodhound Gang songs, the lyrics in this song are funny and also pretty smart, "You know what I really want in a girl? Me." This song feels pretty well thought out, it seems to have more to it than some of the others.. oh.. an its pretty catchy too.. it'll have you shouting Vagina all day. 4/5
Mope - Falco? Hehhh.. I'm not too keen on this one, reminds me of Vanilla Ice or something, and the beat is a bit repetitive, still, it's not dreafull, samples of the song 'relax, don't do it." or whatever it was called are in it, so if you like that song.. . . yeah. 2.5/5
Yummy Down On This - The song begins with an evil power chord riff, awesome, the rapping in this one is pretty neat too, for a white guy anyway. Classic Bloodhound Gang Track. 3.5/5
The Ballad Of Chasey Lain - Ohhrrr... I love this song, I don't know how they do it, but Bloodhound can come up with some of the catchiest guitar riffs, an one of the greatests are in this song about a porn star who never wrote back.. 4/5
R.S.V.P - 12 Seconds long.
Magna Cum Nada - Another classic Bloodhoung Gang, this one doesn't really stand out as much as the others though, and for that reason I give it 3/5
The Bad Touch - I think this was the only song off the album released as a single, and actually reached it into the charts, can't remember where abouts it got though, amazing lyrics, nice beats, all in all a good song, not heavy enough for me though.. 3.5/5
That Cough.. - 14 seconds long.
Take the Long Way home - A cheesy tune plays throughout the song, and to be honest the only good part about this song is the chorus, the only part where the guitar is played.. but that doesn't take it very far. 2.5/5
Hell Yeah - A great religious song, this one makes me feel the feel good vibes, the singing is probably the best part about the song, bloodhound sound good when they stick to sounding serious. 4/5
Right Turn Clyde - Funny song, contains lyrics such as "All in all you're just another dick with no balls" to the tune of Another Brick in the wall by the great Pink Floyd, not really anything special though, can't think of anything that stands out about it. 3/5
A Lap Dance Is so Much - I know you should never take Bloodhound Gang seriously, but this song is just one of those ones where you listen till about half way and then ask yourself "what the hell am I listening to?!" Worst song on the album, but saying that it was probably ment to be. 1/5
The Ten Coolest Things About New Jersey - 10 Seconds of silence (lol)
Along Comes Mary - Album couldn't end any better, I think without this song the overall rating of the album would drop one star, classic Bloodhound riffs, this is one to really rock out to, a definate 4.5/5
When I first listened through this album I thought it was an album filled with 50% good songs and 50% unlistenable ones, but I think I thought too harshly, there are enough good songs on this album to make it an acceptable buy, I keep losing this album, but recently downloaded it again, Bloodhound Gang are probably the only band I enjoy still from the music I listened to in my youth, though some hate them, I think they're great, I just wish they were more serious, they've definatly got something, does anyone have any latest news about them?? are they still around or what??
