Review Summary: Very refreshing in a time of mediocrity, Sky Eats Airplane takes you out for a night.

Lee Duck has grouped with an incredible outfit of tightly bound musicians to develop an effort of epic proportions. From the melodies to the transitions to the production, this album is mint from start to finish. The method of attack stems from progressive influences of the 21st century showcasing the group indulging in electronic landscape. The moody-emo-synth-pop presented by Jerry Roush's lead vocals depict an attitude of depressed disaster, but his bubblegum approach to the tunes inspire even the toughest listener.

Having a foundation stitched by chemistry, the band connects with one another, each musical tool attaching to the other creating an animated puzzle of themes that trigger the cognitive itch. The drums in particular stem beyond the genres requirement and vary from spaz-blast to groove oriented flows that set the pace for the guitars that consistently strum full chords of lush octaves. SEA has the notion of Poison The Well's harmonizing approach in "You Come Before You” colliding with a MacBook Pro visualizer and we may be on the right track. However, the sing-a-longs cast a shadow over the production of the guitars, often sounding distant and at times, nonexistent.

If Misery Signals and Fear Before The March Of Flames had baby who went out on a date with Scarlet they would have Sky Eats Airplane for dessert. The passion of the strums and hymns within this release are so passionate that even the "crying myself to sleep at night since my baby girl left me" themes are beyond recognition.

If you can walk away without humming a ballad, you win the prize

this should be a soundoff. Also, you should leave it to one review a day. This Message Edited On 08.21.08

Agreed, this should be a soundoff. You didn't even mention the songs or the instruments other than the drums. You should have at least mentioned Machines...

Correct. Also, just because your review is poor does not mean you should take shots at my musical tastes.

sooo.... its not review until we get in depth coverage of every instrument/song? what about reviews on outburn, or thePRP for instance who keep it real short and concise... i don't know the rules, i just enjoy writing bout the albums.

A review of the album should be in depth coverage of the album, using the songs/instruments as examples of what you are trying to say about the album. This Message Edited On 08.21.08

Basically, if the reader had never heard of Sky Eats Airplane before, they would have absolutely no idea what to expect here. You can still give an overall idea of the sound without going in depth into every song and every instrumental aspect.

Nah, I think punkgeekalt is probably worse. I mean an approval rating of 6%...doesn't get much worse than that.

But you sir, you're ok in my book

that week of HK/ilike was lame.

Also, richardmongler is funny sometimes, but his trolling of Hawks was just obnoxious.
