Release Date: 2003 | Tracklist

This album is a mix of really good punk songs and just plain stupid ones. For instance, writing a song about a hangovere I find pretty retarted. I guess it's just there style of music. The voice of Dexter Holland gets so annoying after a while. Overall, this album is average.

1. Neocon: This song is a pretty good intro song. It's pretty rebelious. The main part of this song that makes it rebelious is its drum beat.
Rating: 7/10

2. The Noose: This song has a cool intro riff in the start but the rest consists of just power chords. This song sounds like any other offspring song really. Its not that great.
Rating: 7/10

3. Long Way Home: This song sounds as though it's about somebody on the run from the law or something like that. There is a really cool drum fill right after the first verse.
Rating: 8/10

4. Hit That: This song has the best intro in the whole album. Its like a techno rock (if there is such a thing) wicked intro. The rest of the song isn't half bad either.
Rating: 8/10

5. Race Against Myself: This song is more of a slower song witha steadier drum beat. It's not a punky as the other songs.
Rating: 7/10

6. Can't Get My Head Around You: This song has a cool guitar solo in the middle of the song but that is really the only part i really like about this song.
Rating: 6/10

7. The Worst Hangover Ever: This is a song about a hangover and I think that this song is extremely retarted. That is all i have to say.
Rating: 5/10

8. Never Gonna Find Me: This song starts out witha choir harmony thing and then turns into what an Offspring song should sound like. This is one of the best songs on the album.
Rating: 9/10

9. Lightning Rod: This song is the best on the album. It starts out with oick scraping or palm muting or something like that. This song is amazing and as I said before there best song.

10. Spare Me The Details: This song is not punk for sure. It is more acoustic until the end when it turns from acoustic to electric for a bit. It starts out with a cool drum riff.

11. Da Hui: This song consists of the lyrics " I won't f*** with Da Hui, I won't f*** with Da Hui, I won't f*** with Da Hui, Because Da Hui will f*** with me.
Rating: 8/10

12. When You're In Prison: This song is homo. That is all i have to say. Worst outro song possible.
Rating: 4/10

Better than Conspiracy, but not the masterpiece that we're looking for....

Splinter, The Offspring's seventh album, may be short, but it is certainly sweet...

WTF? This review sucks. Worst outro song possible, this song is homo. There is no information there. I hope someone gives this album, (even if they may hate it) a decent review. Maybe you should try to offer more information on each of the tracks, for instance why is the song homo. This Message Edited On 06.24.05

Yeah you could use a little more info on each song, and yes I know too, the song is homo (literally). I agree with the other comments but Meteora3255 and power lutin, The song is about getting pounded in jail. Look at the title

Saying that song is homo or something like that is sign of your low objectivity. The CD isn't as good as for example "Smash", however it's still a good cd. Also giving "Hit That" 8/10 is misunderstading. It's widely known as the worst Offspring single ever.

This is not their worst release in my opinon. Although it has some mediocre tracks, the great ones like The Noose and Race Against Myself make up for it. This album is way to short though.

What a bad review. This Message Edited On 03.03.06
