Goldfinger is an awseame punk band. There kinda like rancid, operation ivy,the used, and my chemical romance mixed together. The singers voice is NOT a high pitched voice like simple plan or new found glory. His voice is perfect pitched.John Feldmann(vocalist and guitar)is a vegetarian and he thinks everyone should be one.The song "open your eyes" is about that.He also says that meat and milk is not good for you.Which I think he is right.Well im going to talk about the music but a few more things about the vegetarian thing. The number of animals killed for meat in an hour in the U.S. is 500,000.If everyone in the world was a vegetarian, their would be enough food that noone would starve.Maybe we will view how we treat animals now as how we treated slaves a long time ago.So please, find the truth in yourself and stop eating animals.

FTN(f*ck ted nugent)

going home-perfect song to start the album. Its not one of those songs you would make into a music video or hear on the radio. Its one of the fastest songs on the album and it gives you an idea that this album is going to be a awseame album.
9 out of 10

spokesman-this is probably the best well known songs by goldfinger. Its also got an amazing intro which 9 out of 10 would like. The speed stays mostly the same through out the song.Theres no downside to this song,it stays awseame the whole time. You probably heard this song on one of the tony hawk games
10 out of 10

open your eyes-since the title of the album is open your eyes, your probably expecting an awseame song, and it is.It starts out with soft drums then out of nowhere it get real loud.the verse is a little quite but still good, then the chorus bursts out with loud music and vocals.the interclude is loud and wild too.
10 out of 10

decision-this song is a little letdown but still a ok song.It just doesnt have alot of things to talk about like spokesman and open your eyes did.But its still a cool song.
7 out of 10

dad-this song is different from the first 4 songs. It start out with a soft voice and quite guitar, then slowly starts to pick up when the drums come in.then he sreams and then song starts rocking.and its about his dad and how he needs him even when he gets mad at him.Its a great song.
8 out of 10

tell me-This song is alot more calm than some of the other songs. Its not a blow away awseame song but its alright. Its like decision not much to say about it.The speed stays the same through most of the song. But overall this song is alright.
7 out of 10

liar-This song is 100% punk like rancid. Its only 19 seconds long though. But what makes this song so good is that its real fast and the guitar is a solo basicly the whole time. This song is real fun to listin to.
9 out of 10

january-this is probably the weakest song on the album. Its not a really a song i listin to.
5 out of 10

happy-This song is a big relief, its faster and it rocks more. You can tell its going to be a good song just by hearing the guitar intro.then the verce is a really attension graber.the chorus is pretty good to.
9 out of 10

woodchuck-How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? Those are the words to this song.i wouldnt really call it a song, its more of a fun thing like "liar".its a real loud sound like the chorus of open your eyes.
9 out of 10

its your life-This is a slow song.It start with accustic then the drums come in later. Most people think this is just one of those slow songs that they always skip but I like this song. Its one of my favorites on the album. Its calm and not so loud.
9 out of 10

spank bank-this song starts slow but gets fast around one minute, but the song ends at 1:20 so its not fast long enough.I guess its ok.if the song lasted longer, this would have been a great song.
7 out of 10

youth-this song is boring. Its not real slow like "january".Its just an accustic guitar song. Its has drums but theres no electric guirar which makes it boring and it stays that way for most of the time.i just cant seem to like this song.
6 out of 10

radio-This song reminds you of the first 3 songs. Its got the awseame bass line and it rocks like spokesman does.i dont see why the put this song so back in the album listing.
9 out of 10

FTN(F*ck Ted Nugent)-This song has the most bad words then any other song ive ever heard. But this song is one of my favorites by goldfinger. Its fast faced and finally someone wrote a song about hating Ted Nugent because everyone hates Ted Nugent.Kick ass song.
10 out of 10

There are 2 more tracks,16 is them prank calling people and making up stuff and its so funny.Track 17 is an accustic song about wayne gretzky(a hockey player)and in my opinion, its stupied.

overall this was a great punk album. It had everything. It had awseame songs like spokesman and open your eyes,it had fun short songs like liar and woodchuck, and it had funny stuff that wasnt on the tracklist like track 16 and 17.

I hope you found my review helpful.

You really have to put more information for track-by-track. If you do it track by track, you should put information on the schemes and type of instrumentation used on the songs.

A good example for reference: http://www.musicianforums.com/sputnik/album.php?reviewid=2061

What the hell?

Are you trying to make me a veggie?

Another thing, are you saying slow songs are bad?!

Overall, dissapointing review.

You've got 24 hours to edit it. Then I'm deleting it. And before anyone asks, I deleted the start of the argument about vegetariainism as it has no bearing on the music. If you want to argue about vegetarianism, take it to the politics forum.

Fair enough..

some things I think you could work on for you review:

Maybe instead of doing a track-by-track review (which doesn't really work because theres a lot of songs and you seem to be repeating a lot of what your saying) do the review of the album as a whole - instrumentation, compare to previous albums, lyrics, production factors, contrast in songs, anything like that. This Message Edited On 06.15.05

I find it interesting that you compare them somewhat to My Chemical Romance and The Used. Really, though, the grammar is of 5th grade level, it seems. The first paragraph basically lacked any somewhat-useful information.

good album, and the final tracks are hilarious, but it has some major weaknesses, but its a good gold finger album, probably their best - 99 red balloons
